This is a gem. Am I mistaken or is there a longer version of this song? I could swear that on a dusty tape somewhere, first obtained during the late 80's, early 90s, I have a version which includes call and response between Prince and Wendy/Lisa? Or did I dream that?

Is a wicked song, i love it. It should have been included on SOTT, although i don't understand most of the lyrics. It sounds like a cartoon soundtrack.

The longer version has the references to 'Good Love Part II' starting at around the 3'38" mark.

However, almost all vocal interplay appears on both versions, even after the reference in the longer version to Part II, such as:

Gustav Mahler jamming on the box (yeah, yeah)
Teenage junkie got his foot on the rock, get off!

The shorter 'Crystal Ball' version (referred to as the alternate version on PrinceVault) edits out the Part II reference but has the coda of urban sounds tagged on.

He most likely had to edit it on "Crystal Ball" 4 legal reasons, but the version on "Bright Lights" obviously sounds more complete.

I called "Fall in Love 2 Nite" new millennium Camille in my review of it on my blog. That was just what I thought at the time. But I wouldn't compare it to "Good Love." That's cool, that's your interpretation.

I don't see how it would have helped: it was still a copyright infringement on WB's master tape. My guess is that it had to do with each disc on CB "having" to be 50mn long. Or maybe for some reason Prince felt that this new edit was better, we know from bootlegs that most released songs were edited one way or another before release.

Prince is not saying "Part II".

Prince is speaking a bit of French like in "Girls n Boys".

It's "partout", which means "everywhere" in French.

I love this song. Best use of the "penguin" joke ever!
