But we don't really know that 100% though.

I agree he's changed but he had the copyright on his symbol so Pantone has agreed this with the Estate otherwise it would just be the name "Love Symbol #2".

I guess there'll be a lot of Purple folk redecorating soon....lol

I'm already trying to decide which room to paint in this color. biggrin

😀 I'm sure it will look lovely 😃

not really interested in anything the estate comes up with... unless it's something that prince himself had a hand in

Sounds like Yamaha developed the color if the piano they created was the influence for the hue..unless Prince gave a color sample to Yamaha.
I love the concept though and will add it to my color palettes.

.
It doesn't look custom. Scroll down here and you'll see the same color identified as Royal Lilac for the UK: http://www.pantone.com/fa...-fall-2017
.
BUT what it does is apply a consistent color to all official products.
It's good branding.
.
Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

I really don't see how. Pantone colors are only meant for the printing industry. Yes, Pantone does issue a report at least twice a year on color trends in fashion and home - and they put together books of color chips. But this, by itself, will not make the estate any money.

NOW - if the estate works with (say) Behr paints or OPI nail polish to create products based on the Pantone shade, that's another matter. But for now, about the only application the Pantone color would have is if someone wanted to write something about Prince and use an "official" color on the printed page.

I love the Pantone color. It would be great if Purple Army would all paint their front door this color.

Yamaha said they developed the piano color based on one of Prince’s purple couches.

According to the press release:

The Estate is in conversation with various partners about collaboration on products that incorporate the custom color.

I don’t see what’s wrong with this. Honestly I’d rather have the estate making money off of something like this than selling his songs to be used in commercials.

On the color healing chart, this shade, Blue Violet, is used to open the Third Eye. Sound familiar? I have been drinking blue violet water a lot in the last year. Take a glass container of the color you want to use, fill it with water and leave it in front of a window for at least 5 hours to "charge". It doesn't have to be sunny to work. Use like any drinking water.

she was Prince's costume designer.

"Stacia moved into the mythical realm of rock music in the early 1990s with an exciting three-year stint as costume designer to Prince. Moving back to her home state of Minnesota, she worked at Paisley Park Enterprises designing stage costumes and personal clothing for Prince, his band, and several of his protegés."

Speaking of the color purple. Better Homes & Garden has highlighted the color purple in this months magazine. Page 34 gives different hues of Purple.

NOBLE PURPLES: Worn by Renaissance princes and the artist formerly and forever known as Prince, this aristocratic color looks best as found in nature as in dusty lavender...etc. etc.
