Honestly... It's not as great as I thought. The lack of strings really take a lot away from the track.

Love hearing this as an early demo. Agreed that the strings add a lot but it's still great to hear!

Fantastic.

I am cool with this being demo like, no real post work, no added stuff. Most of the stuff in the vault is probably like this, since he would record the basic tracks to get the idea down on tape, then move onto the next batch of songs in his mind, and polish up the tracks he was using for his own albums or associates as needed.

There's a bounce to his voice that just isn't in the released--but yeah, the strings are missed.

Cool! Been curious about this for a long time. I prefer the soundcheck version, but it's nice to have this take added to the historical record.

I can't decide which one is the lesser evil of the two:

(1) "Bootleggers" profiting from releasing this stuff to the Prince community at large.

.

(2) A small minority of "Elite Traders" hoarding this stuff and keeping it from the Prince community at large.

.

Take these recent leaks for example. It would seem that these particular leaks are in retaliation for the upcoming Eye Records releases, so if Eye wasn't putting these out, these elite traders would still be keeping these unreleased Prince songs to themselves. Anyway, thanks to the drama wars of the "Profiting Bootleggers", and the pissed off "Elite Traders", we peasants get to eat a few more crumbs that have fallen from the master's table.

Question: What's worse; $ (profit) or NFT (not for trade)

I would prefer to hear a so-called tainted version ($) of an unreleased Prince song than no version at all, but that's just me.

Thanks 4 all these leaks, a dull Sunday has became a lot brighter.....without being greedy Is CoCo Boys on the horizon (as this was only reason i was thinking of buying the eye release)

I would love to see more stuff not on Eye get leaked.

Someone in another post said the actual full version of Wally is out there, is that true? Cause the 4 minute one we have clearly is not starting from the beginning.

I would think these wondeful gems being officially released would have been and still could be the better and best options but since that's not the case at this time, why look a gift horse in the mouth? I am appreciative and very grateful for however the music gets to my ears because the alternative would be NEVER hearing it at all and that's tragic.

TSOP was never a huge favorite for me, and I never got why people loved the song so much. I think it was a weak single, too especially with songs like "Mutiny", or "River Run Dry" and "Nothing Compares 2 U" begging to be singles.

All that aside, I do dig Prince's earlier version. We're used to Clare's strings, but it's always cool to hear a Clare free version just for perspective.
