Thank god for Bootleggers! It could be years before anything is sorted.

Alas, as soon as it was apparent that there was no will located, it was clear that would be the case.

The next release will probably be something from the Piano & A Microphone shows, I imagine.

What makes you think that? As much as I'd like to see any hidden gems from the vault or otherwise, clearly his music catalog is in limbo at this point and nothing will come out for some time. I don't even think Warner will be able to put out deluxe versions of WB era albums until this is sorted out... sad

The estate is allowed to monitize while things are getting sorted out. No reason why more material cannot come out while the investigation is going on. Remember there is a contract with WB that is binding they are going to try and make money off of that contract.

I do not see how the estate can stop them without being sued.

So more deluxe reissues with material from inferior sources. Great.

There is clearly an issue with material from Prince's own vault (NOT WB's library) being allowed to be released.

I'd say it's the expanded reissue campaign that is potentially in limbo.

So maybe we do not need reissues maybe WB will just go dig in their vault. I know that there was an admendment to the WB contract docs which I suspect allowed WB to take things out of there vault. I could see the estate continuing to go in this direction while things get sorted.

If Tidal wins their suit they will be owed two more projects so we could see something next year from that contract.

The appointment of another Special Administrator for the Estate will not hamper releases from the Estate and/or The Vault. This appointment is to investigate the Tribute Concert and the UMG deal because Comerica believes there is a conflict of interest for them to do so.

I am glad to see Comerica is trying to do the right thing with due diligence and professionalism. Hope they can resolve a lot of issues from Bremer, Koppleman and McMillian.

I am afraid damage has already been done and the Estate will have a hard time trying to make future deals.

Is there a reason this needs to be a separate sticky from the estate thread? 🤔
