I gotta say that I don't like many extended versions. More often than not I find they become repetitive and could easily be edited down to avoid that. I like a good groove but 6 extra minutes of that same groove with not much happening, not so much.

My favourite extended song (extended, instead of simply a 'longer version') is Thieves In The Temple. Its rare that a reworked/remixed song take the track to another level.

The definition as defined by op is cloudy. Normally we'd call a song extended if it is a longer version of another song but op stated it as songs which are longer than 5 minutes, so that is why we see these songs listed.

My apologies for the vagueness, what I meant by "extended" was long tracks but it COULD include songs for which there are extended versions, as well, hence my original list...I should have just called them "long" tracks....sorry for any confusion

I don't normally like really long songs, songs that run past 10 minutes usually bore me by the end. That being said, I love all 19 minutes of "The Scandalous Sex Suite"!!!!

I'm surprised noone mentioned Alexa De Paris. I love the sprawling music and guitar work on that instrumental.

A Love Bizarre and Computer Blue are in my top five P tracks of all time.

Another suggestion would be A Love Bizarre . . . on album, a Sheila E. song but we all know it's a Prince song.
