Did Prince ever pass out outtakes on CD? Is there any knowledge about this. Obviously, in the early days, he did so on cassettes. But did he switch to CDs later? How else could the quality on some recently bootlegged outtakes be explained?

the Emancipation outtakes were almost definitely leaked on CD or digi tapes. not sure about Gold Experience era or earlier. Then he tightened it all up after that and leaked to the internet!

I think it was Steve Parke that mentioned being given a early config of Emancipation that Prince had handmade for him, the tracklist was shared and there were tracks on there that didn't ultimately make the album. I know that Sam Jennings has a config of 3121 with the unreleased "Streets of Panama" on it. Anthony Malzone and Scott Addison Clay had material to upload to Lotusflow3r website, some of it Prince decided he didn't want to upload at the last minute. Anthony worked on 20Ten Deluxe as well, unsure if he had copies.
Manuela, obviously, has a ton of stuff, including instrumental music that Prince composed for her candle line - they'd wanted to have this music played in the custom display booths where the candles were sold but this didn't happen, possibly for logistical purposes.
Prince himself sent "Adonis & Bathsheba" just 3-4 years ago to a member of this very site, and I believe other fans. That was digitally, rather than CD, but you spoke about quality........ |

Sure, there's not much to tell though. This is interesting. Explains why it sounds so good. I wonder if the email had any instructions and what format. He must have wanted it out there. Maybe to prove Susan Rogers was oh so very wrong about it.

Thank you for this informed response. This is the answer that I was looking for and probably the reason for the good sound quality of songs such as Coco Boys, Come Home etc... [Edited 8/2/17 11:56am] [Edited 8/2/17 11:57am]

. No, it was that guy with the Dutch sounding name. He showed it off on FB shortly after Prince's death. . Aha: http://prince.org/msg/7/424087 . https://www.facebook.com/...6657959734 . [Edited 8/2/17 12:40pm] © Bart Van Hemelen

. Original version of Vavoom was sent on CDR to radio station, this CDR (or a copy thereof) was obtained by T. If you've ever heard the "porn version" of Vavoom, that's T proving that he had it by uploading it but made "unusable" by adding porn noises all over it. Only other way to hear this version of Vavoom is to track down the radio rip. © Bart Van Hemelen

Prince emailed me the Come album in 1985 with a note saying "Hello, how r u? By the time u have finished downloading this album, it will be commercially available. I have to go, Wendy is running me a bath. I hope the water's warm enough".

Steve Parke does indeed have a single CD version of Emancipation with unique artwork that Prince had made up just for him as a gift. He said so at the Q&A he gave at the 2nd Annual Midwest Paisley Party last year. I was there. Don't hate your neighbors. Hate the media that tells you to hate your neighbors.

"Livin' 2 Die" Rave outtake given to jseven for his 777 Update email list? Through terrible real audio player if I remember.
jseven would eventually go under drfunkenberry and was given tracks over the years to post. There was at least a disc worth of songs and rehearsals given to his site. That I believe was the first one.

It is NOT nonsense.
2) Prince then went on to employ this person as a tour guide at Paisley Park when he was alive. So with all due respect, if you think that person doesn't know what emails came from Paisley when he literally fucking worked there, then there's nothing else I can say about that.

I did receive an unreleased track from 'NPG2000' in 2003. I don't know sor sure it was P, but 'they' certainly implied they were (or seriously connected). .

I know exactly the source for Adonis & Bathsheeba (and many of the other outtakes from recent years), and his name certainly isn't Prince.
But hey, some fans love to concoct their own little universes and alternate realities where they had a 'special, personal relationship' with Prince. There's no shortage of fantasists and egotists in the 'purple famdom'. [Edited 8/4/17 4:32am] [Edited 8/4/17 4:33am] "Everybody want what they don't got..."

I know the person you refer to told people he got things from prince when he really got them from someone I know was not prince. He would tell various things to girls to try and press them. Just for clarification, he literally lied to people intentionally. He knew what he was given did not come from prince. It wasn't given by email either. He could have got something genuinely from prince but similar to him working at pp I would imagine another employee actually did the recruitment. I think it was only for a very short period of a few days at most. So whilst it's possibly he got something from prince, the fact is he claimed to have got things from prince that definitely did not and he knew that. I wouldn't say someone lied unless I was certain. Otherwise I'd word things differently. I know he told someone a free boot release was something he got from prince for example. They may have lied to you too.

I remember just before the start of the London hitn run shows you told me the press were given the dates of the upcoming shows, yet about 24 hours later whilst talking to his manager face to face I found that not to be true and they arranged gigs at last minute including kings place being booked the day of the shows. Clearly some people have been telling others things that aren't true and Chinese whispers start
