I always knew Prince was a big The Cars fan. Supposedly he adored the song DRIVE and played

it alot in the mid-80s around the Revolution.

I think Prince was also a pretty big Talking Heads fan. Has anyone heard the 1999-era souncheck

where he launches into a version of their song Once In A Lifetime during DMSR?? Where can I find that again too???

I loved it when Prince covered songs because he did it well and sometimes better than the original artist, but instead of covering this I wish he would've covered Aaliyah's songs. I was so happy that Mayte mentioned Aaliyah in her book after all she died the same day as Prince's dad and I was hoping P would've taken an interest in A's music because she had a mystique much like him. I wish Aaliyah would've lived longer because I think she would've been up on stage with Prince much like the many females he had singing with him.

When I listen to "Velvet Kitty Cat" I could picture Ric singing the vocals. Sounds like something off the Cars Panorama album to me.
