Which vers of Strange Relationship is better? I love this song. It's will always be in the top 5 of all time fave Prince songs.
So here is a mindless poll...which version of Strange Relationship do you like the best? Include live versions too. For me? 1) 4 Those of U on Valium...BEST ever version of this song. 2) ONAL...Rhonda's bass is absolutely KILLER on this. 3) SOTT version 4) Dream Factory...I like the percussion on this.

I never really cared for the SOTT version. The "valium" performance and the ONA one rock though!

I haven't seen 4 Those of U... yet. But that version of SR is just funky as hell.
I love when he puts in part of Superfunkycalifrag...towards the end of the song. Fuckin' awesome!

the ominous opening before the horns take charge and create they familiar rhythm make Valium no.1 "Climb in my fur."

The "4 those of you on valium" 1st Avenue recording of this is the most amazing bone crunching; head jarring; foot stomping piece of funk out there. Everything about it gels so well - the thomping bass; the sweet organ; the backup vox; the drum pattern...
The ONA version might be a bit mo' betta from a muso point of view, but if you're looking for sickness, then it has to be the valium! "Sheeeeeeeeit"

ONA live.
I haven't heard the "Valium" version. I love all versions I've heard.

A thread coming up from the ashes.
I admit I LOVE the ONAL version. Its just DRIPPING funk. But if you like that version the Valium version will make your face become all distorted...it's THAT much funkier. You gotta check it out if you haven't heard it before.

The first one is CLEARLY the best version, with the Dream Factory version second, ONA Live third, and SOTT version last. The ONA Live version just seems too short (though funky) and is begging for a long extended jam...ya know, like what The Revolution or SOTT band would do without thinking!

Not be be an idiot but where is this "valium" version? I'd love to hear it now that it's been talked up.
What about the version he did on Leno? I always thought that was sooth or maybe it was because I like Naji.

SoTT
Valium Dream Factory ONA The music for the ONA version is otay, but the lyrics came off as weak. Same thing with the Dream Factory vrsion. Sott and Valium had passion all over. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

I love the version (short though) he did on the lovesexy tour solo on the piano, it is old style like ray charles... I wish there was a long version of this particular version.
