i don't have the Sheila E album version handy... how's it different?

It's ok. Every time one of these demos leaks, I'm hoping for a Prince only version to be totally honest. 'Come Home' or '101' compared to this? No contest really is there?

It features the drum track that was removed from the final version. You can also somewhat hear Prince's vocal.

Not one of the better leaks, but still nice to hear.

It feels like a timing exercise to line up vocals to the music . . . 1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4. Doesn't feel very heartfelt, feels like practicing scales.

I'm really not. Not that it matters. We're all different. I keep what i really like only. I love the released version over this.

Yes I would have loved Prince's guide vocal version....but....it is certaintly better than nothing at all.

I'd love hear all the songs that Jill demoed first. They've gotta be out there somewhere

Mark me down as another one who wishes it was Prince's vocals. I'm not interested in associated artist leaks.

And Brenda Bennett is a competent vocalist, certainly better than many associates who received the attention of a protege or Paisley Park album project. That may or may not be esteemed company, but her capabilities and contributions are undervalued.
