Recently I have heard a leaked version of Diamonds and Pearls the title track. This version was just Princes vocals only. I really enjoyed it better than the original version with Rosie Gaines. No disrespect to Rosie Gaines, but I often find her over singing some of the hooks on prince's songs. Does anybody know if there is a version of the entire Diamond and Pearls CD where every track is done just with Prince's vocals?

I know that a early config or something like that leaked not too long ago, with some alterations throughout all of the tunes

I agree. Unfortunately, it makes me sound biased as usual. But I do kind of hate the "D" to the "I" to the "A" to "m" to the "o" .... part.

This was released last year, it's from a bootleg called Diamonds & Pearls Beginnings.

It's a fantastic look into the creative process Prince used. Image D&P as an unreleased song and that version is all we had over the years, this is the state of probably most of the music in the vault. The basics until Prince commits the song to something and polishes it up with more instruments, vocals, and overdubs.

It is one of many examples of the vast difference that occurs between the finishing of his ideas with the basic tracks and the full fledged production of the same songs as a released track.

old release from a couple of years ago i believe. Another misleading post. Please stop!

Exactly, this isn't a NEW leak at all, years old.

Sure to a few people this might be new, but it not a NEW release at all..

but for most people this is very old news and the title is totally misleading.

Especially given the ACTUAL new leaks the last few weeks.
