The website diffuser.fm has a series called "365 Prince Songs in a Year." I have seen threads for individual posts from the "365 Prince Songs in a Year" series here on the org, but I haven't seen threads that are keeping track of each song on a day-by-day basis. So I think it would be cool to have an ongoing thread in order to follow the "365 Prince Songs in a Year" series.

Interesting fact from today's post: "Chelsea Rodgers" features Shelby J., Sheila E., and Maceo Parker. It was the second single from Planet Earth. As to the identity of Chelsea Rodgers, the Diffuser post states that 'PrinceVault seems to put the matter to rest, stating that "the song is inspired by and written about model and clothing designer Chelsea Rodgers.”'

I had never heard the song "Chelsea Rodgers" until today. I had heard of it, and had seen photos from the video shoot (not realizing they were from the video for this song).

I really like the track. It's very groovy and spunky. I love Shelby J's voice...it fits the track perfectly. I love the combination of Prince and Shelby's voices...it provides a unique contrast which gives the song a lot of character. The video brings the song to life, and I love how the video features various muses and members of the NPG, such as Shelby J, Maya and Nandy McClean, and Maceo Parker, appear in the video. My understanding is that the main model in the video is Chelsea Rodgers herself. How cool for Chelsea Rodgers that Prince wrote a song about her!

Prince looks so sleek and fly in the video: the tophat, sunglasses, suit, jewelry, and of course his signature heels, they all fit together perfectly. I love how he sings while strutting his stuff down the catwalk. He wears sunglasses the whole time, as if to say, "I'm cool and I know it!"

This is a kind of geeky meta-question but are there any IFTTT gurus here? I'd like to use IFTTT to pull these 365 song posts from diffuser into Pocket but I'm new to IFTTT and struggling with it. Anyone? Anyone? Buehler?

Just because W and L contributed, it doesn't make it a great song. I think its a rather basic song and not one of my favorites.

Prince has a billion songs but this site is wasting days on covers and live performances and lightweight songs like the One u wanna see' just because W and L contributed. I like the idea of the site and don't mean to sound ungrateful but I want discussion of his songwriting etc, not yet another narrative or background story related to a song. Who cares if Prince likes to say he's not into the Beatles while making a cover of the Beatles--aren't these supposed to be Prince songs.

I agree. Love what this site is doing, but there's at most a paragraph about the actual song in each article.
