Like Jellybean said when talking about Prince & 3rd Eye girl.

"People want to hear the classics, they don't want to hear that new shit" lol

Sheila E knows and has been getting into it in the last 10 yrs. That it is the 1984-1986 music people go crazy for. Glamorous Life the Belle of St Mark Olivers House Erotic City A Love Bizarre Hollyrock Koo Koo Hold Me...

she needs to add Love On a Blue Train Wednesday Like River Sister Fate

such a shame that she rarely performs "Hold Me" during her shows. Here's a rare performance....

She loved leading the band since 1984 and that is ok lol

I think the purple vapors had more to do with her wanting to back up Prince on the drums.
But in the long run it didn't go well. Especially since she did not enjoy the frontman interplay with Prince that she used to have, that Cat then enjoyed.

Playing drums for Prince might have been cool for those two years (SOTT and Lovesexy),but it made it harder for Sheila to return back to her solo career. It killed her solo momentum. When she released Sex Cymbal in 1991,it flopped. The world had moved on.

--Where have some of you been. She left her solo because she wanted to get back behind the drums. She also got sick and was not able to promote Sex Cymbal. She discusses all of this in her book.

Faded Photographs (Sheila E., Constance Guzman, Samuel Domingo and Boni Boyer) 4:11...

The voice that drew me near to you
And drew you near to me
Has faded from the picture
Becoming clear to me
All that's left are memories
Of how it used to be

We can't erase the past
We can't change our destiny

Faded photographs
Your eyes say a thousand words to me
Faded photographs
Shadows fill my lonely room

Faded photographs
Your eyes say a thousand words to me
Faded photographs
Shadows fill my lonely room

Reflecting like a mirror
Racing in my mind
These photographs remind me
Of what's not far behind

Your eyes told me the story
Words of you and I
I can't forget you
In the stillness of the night

Faded photographs
Your eyes say a thousand words to me
Faded photographs
Shadows fill my lonely room

Faded photographs
Your eyes say a thousand words to me
Faded photographs
Shadows fill my lonely room

Faded photographs
Your eyes say a thousand words to me
Faded photographs
Shadows fill my lonely room

Faded photographs
Your eyes say a thousand words to me
Faded photographs
Shadows fill my lonely room

Norbert:

My parents are Jewish holocaust survivors from Byelorussia and the part of the Ukraine that was formerly Poland. Their families were both almost completely wiped out by Hitler's devices. I was born near the wine country in California, the youngest of two boys and one girl. My sister is the oldest and was born in Germany. I grew up near Berkeley, California.

REG:

How did it happen that you joined Tower of Power?

Norbert:

I am good friends with David Garibaldi, the original drummer of the band. He recommended me, and Doc Kupka, (the co-leader of the band), was made aware of me from some recordings and also from the group's current guitarist Jeff Tamalier, whom I played with in a band many years ago.

REG:

Was this your first real glimpse of stardom?

Norbert:

I played with Prince and Sheila "E" back in 1986. That was my first big "Pop" musical experience.

Norbert:

I'm not a social expert, but it seems a given that anyone with the fame and notoriety that Roger has is always considered a "Super Star". I played with Prince back in 1986.

While specific recording dates are not known, initial tracking took place in late September 1986, at Prince's Galpin Blvd Home Studio, Chanhassen, MN, USA (during the same set of sessions as Superfunkycalifragisexy, One Day (I'm Gonna Make You Mine) and When The Dawn Of The Morning Comes).

Sheila E. - vocals, drums, percussion (no instrument credits given for full album) Prince - all instruments, except where noted (uncredited) Rafael Wiggins jr. - bass guitar and vocals (credited, but involvement is likely limited to backing vocals) Boni Boyer - keyboards and vocals (credited, but involvement is likely limited to backing vocals) Carl Wheeler - keyboards and vocals (credited, but involvement is likely limited to backing vocals) -PrinceVault

Come see Koo Koo man
Doing very worst he can
See him spend his lonely dime
Things design the Koo Koo time

CHORUS:
Koo Koo, Koo Koo
Koo Koo, Koo Koo

Everybody, come see Koo Koo girl
She can't resist the Koo Koo world
2 young 2 know better, 2 old 2 refuse

First she had an abortion, now she's got the blues (She got the blues)
Yes

CHORUS

Come and dig the Koo Koo war
Rumor has, it got started cuz our leaders got bored
New toys with a laser teach children 2 kill
Who knows when they're older, maybe they will
Nothing gained, paradise lost
Koo Koo's the trip and death is the cost
It's your world... 4 a little while
Peace, mother, brother, peace of mind
We got 2 love one another all the time
Cuz a kiss on the lips is better than a knife in the back
Can U get 2 that or is your blue train runnin' on a Koo Koo track?
U're 2 laxed, 2 lazy 2 dig all the facts
What it is y'all? We need a new plan, new plan of attack
Everybody jam, we've got the knack
Let's party y'all, let's party y'all
Cuz a kiss on the lips is better than a knife in the back
Now everybody say it

Koo Koo, Koo Koo
Koo Koo

It's your world (Your world)
4 a little while

I'm thinking Patti's sister or back up singer

Sure go ahead, you sharing one with me too

I remember reading her autobiography, and both of her sisters died early. Her oldest sister Vivian died in 1972 (age 42). Her second oldest sister, Barbara, died in 1982 (age 41). Her mom died in 1978.

It could be her youngest sister, Jacqueline, who died in 1989 (as did their father). This photo obviously pre-dated 1989 by a few years. I'm only 50% sure it could be Jackie (age 43). I don't see Patti dragging around backup singers like that.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

That might be it! Lynn Mabry wasn't sure who it was either.

LOL

It could be though.
It looks like Sheila E might have been at a Patti show.
Look at that table in the back (after show delights)
and the guy behind Sheila E has an ID with Patti's face on it
