A couple Paisley Park stories that explain some of P's tweets

I was strolling around on that people of Paisley Park website and a few stories popped up which explained some people featured on Prince's twitter page. Enjoy. they are almost entirely positive so try not to be too skeptical.

Thanks for posting these stories, purplerabbithole.

Prince was a very special man who did so many things for others and expected nothing in return.

This is the kind of positive thread that the org needs...

Thank you so much for sharing!!! I loved reading, "Love Yourself, So We Can Love You Too"; it warmed my heart. What stuck out to me were the moments he spent with children. These moments he spent with children are not very well-known, but I love hearing about them because it reveals a beautiful tenderness to him.

.......

"She emerged and saw Larry Graham leading them over to a black SUV with tinted windows. Larry opened the back door and there sat Prince, or “Brother Nelson” as he was introduced, in the backseat smack dab between Larry’s two grandkids. He said quietly, “Nice to meet you,” gave a shy smile, and offered his hand. Samantha could not believe she was meeting her musical hero, but there he was in all his glory."

.

I love this. Here is a grown man sitting between two kids in the back seat of a car. Usually, a child would be sitting in the middle, not an adult. Prince was a physically small human being, but his aura was larger than life. But then again, he was also just a regular guy.

.......

'Her mom was home with her newborn baby sister when Larry and Prince knocked on the door, were invited in and as Prince sat on the couch he looked down and asked how old the baby was. “Two months,” her mom said, and Prince responded, “Wow, a brand-new life,” with wonder in his face. One can only imagine the thoughts going through his mind in that moment.'

.

Wow, what a beautiful moment. It's also sad because it makes me think of Prince's son, Amiir, and the moments that prince shared with Amiir during Amiir's short life, which Mayte Garcia shares in The Most Beautiful. When the writer ponders, "One can only imagine the thoughts going through his mind in that moment," I wonder if the writer's pondering is an indirect/implicit reference to Prince being a childless father. I wonder if maybe being around other people's children allowed Prince to re-experience the feelings of fatherhood vicariously.

.......

"On another occasion, her mom picked a lovely flower from the water’s edge at Lake Ann only to be scolded by someone who told her it was an endangered lotus flower planted there specifically by Prince."

.

I love that he cared about nature enough to plant the lotus flowers.

.......

"She focused on the Emancipation era (1996) and forward, and was especially fascinated by The Rainbow Children,"

.

I'm curious why Samantha mainly studied Prince's work from 1996 onward.

.......

"He knew who the YouTuber's were, the ones that would record reviews of his albums and shows, and he watched them religiously."

.

I know he went on YouTube, but I didn't know about him watching reviews of his records and shows.

.......

"He was a kid at heart, as Samantha recalls a young girl that came to Paisley Park shows with light-up shoes and they would blink as she’d run around the soundstage [we learned at Celebration 2017 that the little girl was his hair dresser, Kim Berry’s, daughter]. Prince was so tickled by the lights he had some of his own custom-made. So that’s how his now-famous light-up shoes came to be: He was inspired by a child."

.

Awww, I love this sweet story about a child inspiring him.

.......

"Samantha couldn’t have known it was the last time she’d see Prince. The future seemed so bright, with plans for upcoming summer celebrations, but the universe had other plans."

.

This makes me sad because I think that Prince had more life left in him.

You're the first person to use 206M, and it's perfectly fine. 206M and my given name Michelle are cool with me. smile

.

I could be mistaken, but I didn't get the vibe that Samantha is a JW because she mentions/the writer mentions that the family attended the Kingdom Hall as guests of Larry and Tina Graham. ("Love Yourself, So We Can Love You Too" is written in the third person, so I'm not sure if it was Samantha writing in the third person or if it was someone else sharing Samantha's experiences.)

Thank you. Beautiful, heartwarming to read.
So grateful for these uplifting threads on the org!!!!! We need to keep 'em coming and hopefully bury once and for all the death threads with their negative energy and arguing that make it so hard to visit the org much less participate and interact. So, thank you again for the links provided in the OP above ❤

this story should be viewed by his "fans" who love to, even in death, shit on everything about the man. also to newer people like Purplerabbithole who gets dissapointed by the negative stuff, this is the kind of stuff that makes us love Prince the man inspite of his shortcomings.

Yes, there are plenty of good stories about him. He helped a lot of people out and it is important to broadcast this stuff to counter the nosense from the carpetbaggers trying to drag him to make a buck or the people who want to make him the poster boy for pain pill abuse.
