Wonderful Ass LOVING LOVING this song! Especially knowing that it was a gift for Vanity and that she played it before shows (according to Jill) . . I went back to my itunes and saw I had a version of it from Crystal Ball boot, which sounds similar (maybe missing one of the synths) but it says prince & miles davis???? Is that just a mis tag?

I may be wrong, but i think the track was just added to a bootleg compolation, nothing to do with Miles. I do recall a 10 minute dub/ext version of the song, but see no meantion here.. http://www.princevault.com/index.php?title=Wonderful_Ass I will take my place, In the great below

I enjoyed that piece of trivia more than I thought I should.
It gives it something extra in my head. Sweetness for my Rock n Roll Love Affair couple (please do not school me on the song I am only saying how I see Prince and Vanity in the 80s)

It's a marketing sin that WB hasn't promoted this song as a single.

LOVING this song!!!! . . So we know the credits are all messed up on this release, and Jill has posted the actual lyric sheet she and Prince used to write this. . . I assume both Jill and Lisa are singing on this cuz I can hear both..... Lisa especially on the verses.

This song is brilliant! It's grown to surpass what I thought was my all time favorite song "When Doves Cry." Stemming from being a huge fan of both Prince and Vanity in the 80's (as I still remain) the fact that it was confirmed being inspired by Vanity makes it so much more fun! To me, the reverb lyrics by Lisa or JJ are so like Vanity's personality hitting Prince back with as good as he gives her in the song. I think he tried to bring out her personality in the reverb lyrics. Arguing in the song as they did in real life. "You think my friends are my bedmates" Deadpan ("Ahhh.. but you sleep around all the time.") And "You don't understand my quirky way" then she says... ("You don't understand!") And "My sensibilities you aggravate." She goes... ("What sensibilities?") Love it! There's other little hints of her personality that I saw as well, although I can't make out all of the back talk... Did JJ say she help with writing this? Did she elaborate? I wonder if it's with the rhyming part, as I heard the handwritings were different with that part. [Edited 7/9/17 13:59pm]

From Lisa: “Wendy and her twin sister, Susannah, are pretty famous for having nice butts,” Coleman explains. “And Prince did have one of the world’s cutest butts. Prince was dating Susannah, and I was with Wendy. It was us being goofy about our girlfriends. I sang co-lead with Prince. It was a happy-go-lucky time.”

Well joking around on in a studio in one thing but again changing the narrative again to be all about Susannah; according to them everything about that era was about her. I am going with Jill and the fact Vanity knew it was for her. This new thing with it being for Susannah is typical.
I am waiting for them to tell me that Purple Rain was really about Susannah and Prince not Vanity. I am waiting for them to say Prince wanted Susannah for the Rolling Stone Cover but Vanity pushed her way to the photoshoot but Prince had called Susannah first for the photoshoot. . . .

It was then gifted to Vanity whom preceded to play it non stop on tour as per JJ who was also in the studio when it was intiallly recorded. Jill Jones actually helped with the rhyming words ending in "Iate." Susan Rogers also confirmed the song being inspired by Vanity. 365 Prince Songs should have told both sides of the story as it did with "The Beautiful Ones." I like the new website but I think It just lost a little bit of my respect.. Lol http://www.princevault.co...derful_Ass [Edited 7/9/17 16:01pm]

this song is so overrated...it hurts my ears to hear it...its like the rhythm guitar, synth lines and bass line are all from different songs...the melody makes no sense...the main synth line is fingernails on a chalkboard, to my ears

Wonderful Ass definetly has what it takes to be a good single in this era of garbage music. It's for sure Jill Jones in the background. One of my favorite outtakes of a all time. __________________________________________________

I'm with U on this Yes. Why are music executives always above reproach? They should have to atone for every decision they make regarding Prince's legacy. Where is the damn promotion? This single should be in rotation on my local indy radio station.

Why is no one discussing that the song and quality is almost exactly identical from the Box O' Chocolates Wonderful Ass?
