How is the sound on the Sign O the Times Vinyl Reissue? I Could Never Take The Place of Your Man is my favorite song but I'm blown away how crappy all the versions of it I have sound. CD and a couple bootleg versions. I want to listen to it in the best quality available, but I don't want to dump a hunk of change on a low quality vinyl.
For example, I got the Around The World In A Day reissue, and it skips and pops in various places. The America skips like a good 10 seconds of the song. Pop Life skips a few bars too. And pops just fuckin all over the place. Horrible, but I can't complain because I got it during the amazon UK glitch for like 4 euros.
Long story short, is the recent SOTT reissue worth a purchase? Or should I just look for an old copy on discogs?

That sounds like there's something wrong with that particular record, it's definitely not indicative of that pressing as I have one that's perfectly fine. Either that or your turntable. . The SOTT reissue sounds great on my setup. Check out The Collector's Guide to Prince on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/p...4ldzxwlEuy

The SoTT vinyl remaster was totally fine for me, but ATWIAD was too.
I have to say though, with the modern resurgeance of vinyl records I am surprised at how often I receive a dud.

The reissue is excellent. A good turntable helps, those liitle record players from Hifi shops dont play or sound great at all.

It is better, but it needs more work. I am sure crystal clear Adore exists somewhere. Then again I only played the records once. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name
