I am assuming a clunker is a filler track or at least a track that will detract from an album's overall quality. . Dirty Mind (Sister is close, but I will give it a pass as its quite funny) 1999 Purple Rain Parade SOTT (The four albums 1999 - SOTT are amongst the most deeply satisfying of his career) Lovesexy TGE (Shy is close, but given the albums around it, this album stands out for its tight quality) 3121 AOA 9AOC comes close, but again it gets a pass) Phase 2 Disc 2 of Purple Rain Deluxe/Expanded . Prince has clunkers with When we are dancing close and slow and with you Controversy is derailed by Ronnie talk to Russia ATWIAD - Needed to shut down Temptation quicker Black - Sorry it is full of clunkers, Bob George, 2 Nigs and Dead on it Batman to Musicology excluding TGE, good albums with one or more clunkers like Face Down, Da da da, I rock thereore I am, Solo, Lemon Crush, Jughead, Arrogance etc. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name | |

"Condition of the Heart" is a super duper clunker on ATWIAD. That is the first track on any P album that I skipped most every time...just unlistenable. There is maybe one song like that on his first album, but it's his first album so gets a pass there. | |

My only criticism of 1999 is that some of the tracks are unnecessarily long and I don't like the rude swearing on the end of Lets Pretend We're Married. | |

Condition of the Heart is a Masterpiece..... Pure Genius this Song!

I'd consider a clunker any song that you tend to skip on an album playthrough, thus I'll list the Prince records I listen from beginning to end:
Controversy Purple Rain Parade
Runner up albums would be:
Sign O' The Times (U Got The Look, real shame because otherwise that enire thing is awesome song for song.)
Dirty Mind (Uptown, that hook is so wack. "Uptooooowwn!" ugh)
Any other album has more than one skip.
