I wish Prince would have performed Ballad of Dorothy Parker more later in his career

This just popped up as a recommended video. So good. I love this song and wish he would have performed it more later in his career. Gimme this over live staples lik4 Cream or Peach any day. And watching this video Ida really was bad ass on bass and Cassie amazing on keys. cool

One of my favourite songs of all time, when he played it live I liked it best when he interpolated it with "4". The last time I heard him do it was at The Sydney Opera House,20th April 2016.

The Ballad of Dorothy Parker might be my favourite song of all time. I completely agree with you, I wish it was played more in later yetars. It would have completely blown me away to witness this song live.

Thank you for link, this is an incredible rendition. In fact, the more I've seen of it, this Melkweg show looks like one of a kind. The version of What's My Name that opens the show, (and directly precedes The Ballad of Dorothy Parker), is the same kind of atmospheric, murky funk as this.

That Dorothy Parker on Jay Leno was great! Thanks a lot, I had never seen that! Prince seemed to have a really genuine liking of Jay Leno. It's good to see Prince really comfortable with someone.

I wish the unreleased extended version would leak or be commercially released.
