its not close at all... "Like A Mack", "Aint About To Stop", and "This Could Be Us (Remix)" might be the 3 worst songs ever to show up on a Prince album... theres no such songs on AOA...

AOA without a doubt. HnR 1 and 2 have a handful of interestingtracks between them but are mostly unlistanable as albums, imo.

HnR Phase 1? Bar the odd song it goes in to my Bottom 5 albums. By anyone. I'm embarrassed for him.

Hardrocklover. I'd rather sit through a Coldplay gig. Or Adele. Or Steps. You get my point.

As someone said, HitnRun 1 and 2 were compilation albums. Now That's What I Call Prince.

Are you embarassed 'cause maybe you cannot get it? I don't recall anything from Coldplay or Adele in this collection but I love how Prince often provokes mixed reactions among his listeners... Curious to know which other 4 titles are part of th list you made up.

Well, "Graffiti Bridge" was - in a way - a compilation Album, too... He "just" put together - partly re-recorded- old tracks.
Same with "The Vault.. Old Friends 4 Sale" where "Sarah" is from 1996 while most of the other tracks were older.. Still these two are - imho - great records., because the sequence worked...
To me the "problem" with the later Prince-Albums is that most of the songs are good-to-great but the sequence mostly doesn't work for me... AOA starts with "Art Official Cage" which is a terrible opener to me... And "Million $ Show"as a starter for Hit&Run Phase 1 is even worse (as an opener).... [Edited 7/4/17 5:14am] NPG Radio:

AOA had an interesting concept, but I dont like the production much. It´s like Prince on R&B auto pilot. HnR Phase 1 shows a more adventurous Prince. I prefer that one.

Hey, U sound like a bored & tired fan, maybe its time 4 U 2 move on? Well spotted. I am. Have been for several years. I listen to Prince a few times a month sometimes less. But then i do buy lots of music each month both old and new and listen to radio quite a bit. I don't want to just listen to the same old artist day after day. That'd be like having cheese sandwiches for lunch every single day of the year. But I'm sure this group is for all Prince fans right, regardless of the level of fanaticism? Talking of which how is kcoolmusiq? Still alive or has his world ended?

Curious to know which other 4 titles are part of th list you made up. Much like my Top Ten, my Bottom Five consists of more than that number and they jostle for position. The overused dance tropes on HitnRun are my biggest hurdle. Josh's take on edm is not exactly a match for DJ Shadow. It's as cringable as having Steve Wright play a set at Glastonbury. Actually that would have novelty value at least. Some of the songs across both HitnRuns are incredibly good for fans but as a package they are not so great. Like finding Purple and Gold on SotT.

Neither is a great album... Giving 'HnR P1' the edge because its highlights rise higher than anything on the distressingly even AOA. . AOA is my nomination for most overrated P album by a country mile. It's not a washout, but it ain't no masterpiece/classic no how. . It had been a long while (by P standards) since a new album when AOA came out. Some striking conceptual elements and a generally coherent and relatively fresh SOUND makes AOA seem better than it is. After his passing, some "fams" insist this is his final masterwork. Give it time, it'll fall into a more realistic placing in P's oeuvre. . I'll take either HnR over AOA. I’ve been informed that my opinion is worth less than those expressed by others here.
