Do u guys like the PR Deluxe or felt it should've been more expanded?

I was a little disappointed with this PR deluxe.
Where were songs such as "All day, All night", "Wednesday",
"Cold coffee & cocaine", " mama" , "G-spot".
Also it was to bad we didn't get a different live concert
from that historic tour.
Imagine seeing the LA show when Madonna & Springsteen
Jumped on-stage. How about the long island show when
Prince debut "rasberry beret", "comdition of the heart" etc.
Those First Ave shows from 83 which was talked about in the booklet.
Also his 26 th B-day show from june 7,84 as well.
It felt like a big tease showing a pic of that show in the PR
Booklet.
How do all the fans on here feel about it?
Will there be a super deluxe that includes all of the above
One day?

I am prettt much happy with it but would have liked
the addition of Wednesday, All Day All Night, etc. as
well as a sound only recording of a PR tour show.

I liked it, especially for the price. It obviously could have been a lot better but hopefully time will bring other releases that have more comprehensive material.

For an album, it's great. It's not a career box set or unreleased track boxset. As a Purple Rain re-release, it's fine. Perhaps adding the music videos and/or film would have made it more rounded, but as for music, it's fine. Sad that a bank is more competent than MJ's executors. I think it was really well done, I bought the digital release and went ahead and ponied up for the physical release on Amazon.

I would have left off the DVD and put the outtakes over two CDs. I wouldn't include period unreleased tracks other than the likes of Father's Song which was in the film and perhaps Electric Intercourse.

So:

CD1 - album (with maybe the bsides).

CD2 - remixes and edits.
CD3 - Outtakes
CD4 - Outtakes

With this in mind I'll be compiling my own version very soon, as I'm sure many people already have.

Prince has probably done over 5000 songs and 5000+ instrumentals. How many more songs can you put on one CD? Several of the tracks on Disc 2 are too long, so I guess you could fit in a couple more songs that way. CD 3 is mostly pointless.

My gut says... only release one album, one disc at a time. Personally I don't want indefinable vault material, messily put out there. [insert - raiders lost arc scene]

Stickies are moderators' self-aggrandizement platforms geek

I would love the associated artists stuff at this point to be honest and even some more demos, the time have tons of stuff but it's very doubtful we will ever see this happen

I'd agree with most of that. I do think the stuff on disc 3 is essential to an album re-release though, but I'm a completist - I want every released version of every released track. In terms of not including outtakes though, if we were looking at a comprehensive remaster series instead of the up in the air feeling we have at the moment, I'd absolutely keep the outtakes to separate releases and just have the album and singles on each album's remastered release.
