Now that PR has been finally been released...what music will be released next? For most Prince fans, the question is what will be released next? Sad the record companies and family is really dicking this up! Since PR is what the public really wanted (though I not digging the vault tracks released, better choice/music there). What do u think will be released next where the record companies and family will make the most money?

Please let it be 1999 or SOTT remastered "Climb in my fur."

OMG 1999 remastered deluxe would be amazing, it's my fav Prince era and album.

Yes a remaster of 1999 or SOTT would be great for starters. Parade and even Lovesexy would be lovely too, but WB probably considers those not well known enough for the casual widespread to sell. Despite everything, no one can dictate who you are to other people - 1958-2016

Personally I would love a SOTT deluxe, with some callbacks to CB/DF tracks. However in terms of lighting up the eye of the public, 1999 is his next most well known album so that would be logical as well

Piano And A Microphone Live.
The Purple Rain release has been tainted by non-access to masters for unreleased stuff - this will be an issue for quite some time until the Estate is sorted, whereas a PAAM live release would be the least problematic option legally and logistically (I'd say it's safe to presume this).

I'd be happy as a clam for the rest of my life with The Black Album/LoveSexy combined. And SOTT, obviously.

They're already remastering the First Avenue 1983 concert, so that seems a given. If Purple Rain Deluxe sells significantly better in Europe than the US, then I suspect the next thing after that a Sign Of The Times Deluxe. If there isn't such a distinction (I hope, I got the PR deluxe yesterday in the biggest record shop in Amsterdam and they had roughly 50 copies or so and were working to get more out), then I expect 1999. . My wish is Around The World In A Day though. . I do not expect the estate to get things in order for a quick release of his last concerts, even though Prince more or less got them ready to go. And they really missed the window on that one, it should have been released on his birthday in 2016 for maximum exposure. Would have helped with the tax bill... . Why put them together? The Black Album is his last piece of absolute genius and Lovesexy is his first fall from grace and the start of him only releasing partially satisfying albums. I don't think it does either album much good to combine them. If anything, give them both a deluxe treatment, but separate. Paisley Park is in your heart - Love Is Here!

Honestly, I think they should just start from the beginning with FOR YOU. Like when Ryko redid all of Bowie's catalog in the late 80s. Release 2 or 4 a year. Introduce the kids to all those old records and and 12-inch b-sides in the order it all came out.

Lovesexy is a pop-funk masterpiece, very succesful in Europe, number 1 in the UK and sold very well in other EU countries as well.. Prince 4Ever.

P&M DVD recorded at Paisley Park. "Prince don't know how many hits he got"

unfortunately i think it is clear the record industry has zero love for prince as he humiliated them .. wb is done with prince except maybe suing the estate out of spite .. i could see that happen
i am pretty sure the corporate world wants to destroy prince legacy .. it will have to carry on via the fans if it all

. I'm one of the europeans that likes Prince to be weird. I just don't like the religiousness, that was a bit of a shock, from a free thinker to a preacher. Then again, I felt The Rainbow Children was his best record in years, not trying to get in "the charts". . Good to see that we agree somewhat though. Not on what is "better", but that they should be separate. And I would love to do one... I am puzzled by Angelo Schifano being thanked on the Deluxe, right after the members of the Revolution. He's a fellow Dutch fan and I just recently saw him, but I wonder how he helped make this Deluxe version. I would love to be able to contribute to upcoming expanded albums, credited or not. ANY ALBUM..lol..i downloaded 1999 last year and i was shocked how QUIET it sounds compared to other songs released by other artists at that time. I think Lovesexy though is the worst contender when it comes to this.

I'm not sure how "quiet" is a problem. If you want to change it, simply rip the cd, open in any editor and do a normalize. No changes to the audio, other than volume. Don't let it hit past the max and it'll be fine. If it is still too soft, you probably don't like dynamic range. In that case, throw it through a compressor. . On the other hand, if you can see through the production values, I do like vulf and their compressor, as show in this video. I like how the music goes from just jamming to also bumping. . (be careful, being too enthusiastic with this will have you brickwalling) Paisley Park is in your heart - Love Is Here!

mediumdry:
I'm a relative technological illiterate. How would I go about doing this? Could you recommend an editor/define "a normalize" for me? For reference, my goal would be to ultimately get these edited cds with a slight volume boost onto my phone. Thank you very much!

It's not that difficult and can be done with free tools.
First step: rip the cd to a lossless format. I use a Mac, and I use XLD, but it is not the easiest tool (but not difficult either, with plenty of how-to's out there) For windows, I used to use exactaudiocopy, which I think is still updated. Most important part is to rip to lossless. Flac, apple lossless or even plain wave is the way to go. It needs to be lossless because you will compress later. If you re-compress an already compressed file the quality goes down fast. (remember taping over a cassette from a friend?) . Second step: open the files in an audio editor. Audacity is a free option for all operating systems. Once you see the waveform, just play it. Hear how loud it sounds. Under the menu option "Effect", choose "Normalize". Just use the defaults and say ok. Play the music again. It will be louder. Success! . Third step: save the file as an MP3. In the "File" menu, choose "Export Audio". Under "File Type", choose MP3. Change setting to suit your needs. The default might be fine, I like 320 stereo constant bit rate, but maybe you have another preference. . Fourth step: copy the mp3 file to your phone! . Once you've done that, you can start experimenting with other effects, like the compressor. Soon, you'll be as good as Josh Welton! Paisley Park is in your heart - Love Is Here!

I´d love to see a Lovesexy deluxe box with Rotterdam and/or Dortmund shows, beautiful pictures and all possible extra materials from that era... Is it asking too much?
