True. I think he struggled with Christianity, like most of us do. I think the important thing is the journey/walk we have with God, and not trying too hard to understand him, but living in a way that is of God. We all fail at times at reaching that goal, but the important thing is that we "try". Prince was a God-loving man, and he accepted Jesus Christ as his savior. He got a lot of criticism when he became a JW, because he lifestyle really did not portray a christian lifestyle. I will never figure it out.....he was rock star, and Brother Nelson at the same time.
We are all sinner and Saint. We all have immense good and bad. That is the gift That gift the fruit of the Holy Spirit, if you choose to believe, that no sinner Is better or worse for his sin, we are all sinners trying our best to walk a road and hopefully not judging someone else's road as not as sinful. And the best gift Is that even if your neighbor thinks your worse than he God promises that your not That your equal In his eyes.
.
^^ That was beautiful!! ^^

Children are not the main point.
Having a stable relationship with the love of one's life is.
Maybe P was too distracted to even recognise his own wife as the one (and stay with her for eternity), but without having an alternate universe to see the Larry-less version play out we will never really know.
1) It does not matter what Mayte wrote in her book. As soon as Prince had a girl on the side his mind was somewhere else. 2) He decided not to have a stable relationship and he was making that decision before Larry came along. 3) What do you know about Christianity? If had truly been following any Judaeo Christian religion he would have stayed married. He decided not to do that.
1) Yes it does matter what Mayte wrote in her book. Why, bc she would have known him more intimately than anyone, including Kirk Johnson, Morris Hayes, Larry Graham! Or is P so private that even Mayte didn't know the real him?
2) Most 'stable' relationships are unstable anyway hehe... well probably in your world. And Mayte probably wanted out of the relationship as much as he did, or she wouldn't have cheated on him. So your argument is kind of moot and straw man.
3) Christians get divorced all the time. That's what the official U.S. statistics suggest, that they get divorced more so than atheists - though how many of these so-called christians are not merely 'cultural christians' is anyone's guess. However, imo Christianity is the ultimate 'chisel on the side' religion which is cherry-picked and ignored by its followers more than any other religion. Marriage 'laws' are certainly not gonna stop any Christians from getting divorced!
[Edited 7/12/17 14:05pm]
1) Once Prince started running around with other women his mind was gone from that marriage. I do not see what Larry Graham has to do with that has P had been doing this stuff for a long time before he came along. I think he showed different people different sides of his personality and there may been a side she did really know when she got mixed up with him.
2)All relationships are not unstable and that relationship between them got off to a bad start as soon as her parents introduced her to him. As far as her cheating on him if she did good for her he got a taste of his own medince. I just wish she was more honest about it. [Edited 7/12/17 18:35pm] |

As P grew closer and close to Larry and got involved in his teachings a `distance` came to be between P and Mayte as Mayte did not want to follow Larry's extreme views.
So P got the impression he really needed a woman at the side after that. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry. |

The deal with UMG was for licensing not purchasing the master tapes. The 200m is just an estimate of the value of the estate. All of the music has to be catalogued and all of the assests value calculated. When Breamer turned in their inventory they had not even completed the valuation of the estate and we have no idea how much money the estate can make off of the vault material. $200 is just an estimate. Also UMG paid a advance on the 30 million they did not give the estate 30 million dollars in cash. |

Don't forget the value at auction prices of the clothes, jewelry (how much is a piece of fine jewelry worn by Prince worth!?), the GUITARS and other musical instruments, never before seen photographs, hand-written correspondence and lyrics...LR, maybe it COULD be a BILLION dollar estate!

If they time things about right the estate sale could be just when the recession will be undeniable.
What will such an event do for bid pricing? Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry. |

The estate will not be auctioning anything off anytime soon. Taxes can be paid in installments. Also remember his sibs will inherit everything and I am sure they will be keeping a lot of stuff. |

Bod, I think you might be right; the cultural, historical and intrinsic values to all these items make then invaluable. For example: What would we pay for a first edition Hemingway novel? However, I think for purposes of estimating the ‘estate’ value, the lower the figure the better in terms of tax liability.
.
In the future, there might come a time when museums pay to acquire P's items to add to their collections of cultural significance. If as they say P saved everything, I’m sure there is more stuff than PP would ever need. Imaging going to MOMA seeing a framed P lyric sheet? How fun would that be?

It seems the most famous guitars are worth upwards of 2M and a lot around the 500k mark. But isn't the Hohner not THE Hohner.....he has had a bunch of these made over the years?? I would guess about 200k. |

Thanks Kiowa Trl...so, when he had 'new' Hohner's made, did he have all the scratches and dings incorporated onto the new instrument? |

I am hoping the estate will donate or sell some of his stuff to museumus and public exhibit. Prince has a damm tamborine in the African American History Museusum. One of those guitars needs to be in that museum. |

But, a super high appraisal on an item that is then 'gifted' to a museum would be a great tax shelter for the estate, keep his precious artifacts out of private hands and before the public where all can enjoy. So I say the origional Hohner is worth $10 million and belongs in the Smithsonian. Do I hear a second? |
