I'm literally in tears. Disc 2 is incredible

Anybody notice some of the short reverbs on WE CAN FUCK are used on the scene where Appolonia and Prince make out in his room??

I'm in love with We Can Fuck!!. I'd probably be inlove with that 10 minute unrealsed version that sounds simular to this one but for now this is

I just listened to Disc 2 - which I love - but FATHER'S SONG made me tear up again...

Wonderful looking set. CD2 is an absolute delight, beautifully crisp and some of it I haven't actually heard Rest is just a bonus let's be honest!

This version of Possessed is woah. This is actually a version he made in the 80s? Pretty trippy and gotta say I'm enjoying it too (despite LOVING the slower bootleg).

Listening to this - I kinda feel sad.

Let's be honest - the music on here is nothing compared to the oodles of bootlegs that are already out there - and the quality here is middling - that includes both the track selections and audio quality.

Looks like they just plucked these tracks from the vault with no work done to them - To that end, they could easily release a disc a month and we would buy them no questions asked - yet we had to wait until mid June for this.

I refuse to pay for this...... the only people being made rich off this are anyone other than Prince - He's dead, and his family are already richer than they deserve.

In the meantime, the lawyers, fat cats and family will squabble over what will be released next.....maybe in time for christmas.

.. and I see people on here seemiingly happy about this - as if there's something to celebrate -

Nothing in this life is free. Someone has to get paid to distribute the music and the up keep of Paisley Park isn't going to be paid by thin air.


I think Paisley Park should offer a subscription fee where fans can get orginals and any new material from them....if this is too costly they should do it through a special Prince TIDAL Store.

Where in the movie? Tell me around what minute mark... because in the scene I think you mean there is only the "she's crying, it's backwards" part and then God instrumental. Trying to find what you are referring to.

I'm not sure what to think of it. I l really ike cd2, although some songs are too long and 'demo like' in my opinion. I do not think I will have this cd in heavy rotation very long. Instead I will listen to Art Official Age and Montreux live 2013. It's great to have these songs available, but I'm really interested in some released live music next, video and cd. My favourites of Purple Rain Deluxe: Possessed, Electric Intercourse and Fathers Song.

Agreed.

Haven't gone 2 store yet, but have a leak and We can Fuck is every bit as good as expected. The moral majority sample of 1983 Testament is definietly a muddy mix of the last half of it.

Just dropped on Apple Music here in the UK. 'We Can Fuck' is outstanding, love the last 5 minutes or so. 'Love and Sex' sounds great too. The quality on the Hallway Speech version is better than expected, and Possessed sounds pretty good too. Not audiophile stuff but definitely listenable.

Like many others, not hugely surprised and sure there could have been more interesting choices. But I tried to treat this like a new Prince album, complete with my usual ritual of headphones and solitude. I guess this kind of thing is the nearest we'll get to the old halcyon days now.

Since this is the standard version. I should mention that even Disc 1 - Purple Rain Remastered is worth it. The sound is louder and sharper. Playing an original copy of Purple Rain next to this, you hear it. The LINN is louder and his vocals are sharper. It sounds so new.

Darling Nikki and When Doves Cry sound incredible more than before and the screams in Beautiful Ones really sound sharp and loud.

Despite being a Prince fan since I was 9, I've barely heard any of the unreleased or rare stuff.

So Disc 2 on this is blowing me away.

Computer Blue Hallway Version is f*ckin' magical.

This is the first time I heard Velvet Kitty Cat and I LOVE IT!!!!

Prince only remastered The Purple Rain album, nothing else. Warner Bros did the rest. Against princes wishes really is the unreleased tracks etc. These extras come from warner bros own vault. But of course, Prince is no longer here so carnt fight back!

Hence why "We can fuck" got through, may that's why he was stalling on its release. Warners said - We are releasing it with all that stuff and Prince was like "Oh hell naw"?
