Is there a definitive list of every song Prince played drums on?

I'd love a complete list. I usually check PrinceVault but is it the most accurate or is there a better source?

Prince vault may not be 100% accurate but I don't know of anywhere better.

I suspect most people can't, especially non-musicians. I certainly can't. How do you tell if it's Prince, Morris, Bobby Z etc?

Questions like this is always good discussion.

.

And I think we can say 'we really don't know' the full details

.

yet at the same time, like someone else said 'everyother song Bobby Z Sheila E Bland Blackwell Cora Hanna' didn't play on.

.

But when I hear stories like the one Jesse Johnson tells of If the Kid Can't Make U Come, drumming was some combination of Jesse(who I would not have thought) Prince & Morris.
.
And of course all those song that too many fans don't know was Morris Day on drums

the Family did the music on 4 Love- Jill Jones(album) songs Eric Leeds(sax) St Paul(bass) Jellybean(drums) and All Day All Night(the Revolution)

Didn't he handle the drums on the Madhouse projects?

On 8, yes. But not 16, according to Susan and Eric.

According to Susan Rogers, Tamborine is completely Prince at the drums. But I am sure someone here will dispute it.

Another example is Chelsea Rodgers which prince vault says Cora Dunham was the drummer on but I've heard that in fact Prince drummed on that song.

why would anyone dispute it? We all know he did everything on that song.

I mean sometimes its a bit harder than what you make it out to be. Especially if its a normal groove that all drummers do

Sure... wink wink wink wink wink

NO just busting your chops.

To be honest, Prince's drumming actually doesn't really concern me all that much. I know he can play drums, I know he could hold his own with some pretty solid drummers (especially if his focus was primarily on it) but I also know its not his strongest talent.

ATWIAD is my favorite album(the project overall)

I still remember the day it came out and when I bought the LP

Tamborine was one of my top 3 favs from it. I love furious drumming.
Lisa Coleman when talking about the purple rain sessions some years ago,

talked about Darling Nikki and Prince recording that one all by himself and she specifically talked about his signature drumming style, I believe she called it wild / furious. Since then I noted songs with the furious flare, and would put together playlists. Tick Tick Bang(81) Darling Nikki Tamborine Junk Music Everywhere, all have that wildness

Well, before the Linn I guess it's entirely him. So the first two albums.
Then it's him overdubbing the Linn, and sometimes it's the Linn only.

The most obvious, representative of Prince-on-drums songs?
- Tamborine
- Irresistible Bitch
- Christopher Tracy's Parade / New Position / I Wonder U / Under The Cherry Moon
- God (instrumental)
- Another Lonely Christmas
- Take Me With U
- Slow Love
- I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man
- The Cross
- Witness 4 The Prosecution (hornless version)
- Hello
- Temptation
- Dance On
- Anna Stesia

Heck, I could go on, but I'd be here 'til next september.

No one can. It's his style alright.
Prince was an incredible drummer. No one can deny he tried syncopated fills and stop-and-go's that are only his. Does anyone really think you can come up with such totally original drum machine patterns without having mastered drums to da maximom?
