bass sounds like something doubletracked. One part (main) is a synth with some slight envelope things in it on the attack and then there's a "real" bass plucking along with it. Would love to play with the multitrack to hear the different parts, but that's more often than not with Prince. There's a lot of buried amazingness in even mediocre tracks.
