I think with Camille and Dream Factory those albums were already sequenced by Prince and ready for release but rejected by WB. True I was using Camille as an example but not a good one. Re Dream Factory there is conflicting information out there as to whether this was ever actually a finished sequence because with the break up of the Revolution Prince kept saying working on it and it evolved into Crytal Ball. 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

I am going to be THAT guy and be pedantic but Crystal Ball was a 3 LP (vinyl) configuration not CD... 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

There is a podcast with Susan Rodgers being interviewed by Michael Dean. About half way through the 3hr interview she discusses the vault. She states people are working on the vault, getting it together. (paraphrasing here) One day the vault will be released but it will take a while.

Unbelievable. There will be no more NPGMC or any other official Prince related homepage selling vault material. There will be no more surprise releases for free, no more exclusive content for tidal or anything else. Prince is dead. As hard as it is. I think of him almost every day but this is what it actually is. Reality. There might be some releases via a label from time to time but don't expect too much.

If the estate had any sense (and good business advice), they would leverage the volume of vault material with hardcore fans via Paisley Park sponsorship. .

IF the estate has any sense. Or even bother to refer to the fans who actually supported Prince's later career and are interested in it.

The vault is in a right state at the moment and I can only think it's because Sharon Nelson is putting her failed jazz singing career The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!

Do you people actually know how much time and effort it takes to at least get a halfway decent overview of what is actually in the famed 'vault'? Once the recordings have been catalogued, someone must be appointed to select recordings for possible releases. When tapes have been selected one must very carefully handle them, as most of the recordings would have either been done on back-code-tape (analogue) or U-Matic-Tape (digital). Most of those tapes will not play anymore. They have to be baked and saved in the digital world. There's many more steps to follow, before anything can actually get released. Thus, it might take many more years before any real unreleased stuff will eventually surface. As far as I know the owners of the estate have not even appointed anyone checking the vault yet. As far as major record companies would compare to a possible reinstallment of the NPGMC when it comes to vault-material: don't worry. Neither can fuck up anything if the person respronsible for the vault will do a good job. How about this scenario: The etsate keeps the copyright and the masters to license finalized packages to a major label. In the digital age there's not even much need for promotion. All the estate needs to do is getting on good terms with fan-sites such as this... et voila, there's your demographic.

And music Prince recorded during the past few years should be without the above stated issues and ready to go. Starting with albums such as Black is the New Black, Phase 3 and other recordings would be a logical place to start, while the older music is being archived and treated.
