Lol I have never streamed, dont need to cause I got my iTunes filled with all the P anyone could ever need. However the Prince fan community should be inclusive and open minded, not snobbish enough to devalue the value of a fan who may listen in a different way than someone else. You're really good at this, because I made a decision to ignore you; but I can't. So I'll take my chances because I am curious and would like an honest answer and not some "snappy comeback".
1) Are you serious or just clowning? If serious,
2) please define "true fan"
3) People on this site talk about maintaining Prince's legagcy; how do you think that is going to happen if younger people are not exposed to his music? Prince's older fan base will evenutally transition; and who will be left to discuss his music and advance his legagcy? The majority of millennials are NOT buying CDs or BUYING music. As people noted on this site, since his passing the price of some of his CDs are a bit pricey for someone who may be fresh out of high school or college.

Thanks. As usual we can agree to disagree. I think new, and younger fans/fam are needed; and appreciated. Like Prince, I think multi/inter generational blood is cool: “They are like my kids,” he said. “And I’m learning from them. Young people have the new ideas.” But I feel you on the ignorance part; I have a problem with people's ignorance of Prince before the "purple histroy" (not really,). |

Are you streaming his music on TIDAL, Spotify or Apple Music?

Are you a vinyl/cd kind of listener?
I stream via Spotify. I lost all my vinyl's (For You - Around the World in a Day is what I had) when I left them with a family member while I was enlisted. Still debating about joining Tidal. |

I signed up to Tidal just to stream Prince's entire (released) catalogue. Since then I have used the platform regulalry to stream new non Prince music and albums and enjoy it. I actually listened to "The Chocolate" invasion yesterday on Tidal which I had never listened to as an album configuartaion before so I am going to use stremaing to (re) discover Prince music I have never taken the time to listen to before. |

I own what I listen to. I'm not always in range of a cell tower. Out here in the wild west, you can drive half a day and not be able to stream.
It's the same with me--and I live in New York City! Try streaming when you're stuck in a subway tunnel.
So streaming is useless to me. My Prince music is all vinyl and CDs (or ripped digital files from the CDs).
[Edited 6/11/17 0:13am]
You know you can save music for offline listening, right?
.
I do. My CDs are
On my iPod which I can easily plug into my cars and control from the steering wheel.
It's actually more convenient.
I also bought a turntable recently and have been converting vinyl to digital and CDs.

I've no need to, but I'm not 'anti-streaming' - I just personally have no use for it. If streaming is the way the general music listening audience is getting their music, then I'm glad Prince's stuff is on there to be heard. |

I have Tidal & Apple music for various reasons. I also own everything on cd/vinyl & digital as well.
Streaming makes it easier for me to listen to what I want anywhere I want. I own everything because I want to. I am also I collector of music in general.
Calling someone 'not a fan' on a fansite is rather pointless, but hey, to each their own. |
