A case of you I love Prince's version of this Joni Mitchell song.....but something is really driving me crazy. Very near the end of the song, Prince is playing the piano and he starts to break into another song.
It's right around the 3:00 minute mark of the version i have, with about :31 seconds left. Im sure it's another Prince song but i can not for the life of me figure out what it is. A friend of mine thinks it might be "If i was your girlfriend" so i played that song and although its a very good guess i dont believe thats it. Then I thought it might be a song by the Time. I just cant figure this one out, so i was hoping someone on this site might be able to help me figure this out. [Edited 5/29/17 17:29pm]

Are you talking about the live one or the studio? "Climb in my fur."

Well it doesnt sound like a live version, if it is the crowd was very quiet. There isnt any clapping, woo hooing, any crowd noise whatsoever. I believe its the version that was on the Joni Mitchell tribute album.
This version is 3:31 long and its right at the 3:00 minute mark with :31 seconds left [Edited 5/29/17 17:36pm]

In 2007, a slightly edited version (removing the final coda) was included as the sixth track on the compilation album A Tribute To Joni Mitchell (using the original title, A Case Of You).
Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

He loved Joni Mitchell and was a fan when he was young. He even wrote her letters. My guess is he loved her ability to convey complex moods. One of the reasons I love her too. She was also a compete original musically, wrote and played multiple instruments. Brand new boogie without the hero.
