Unless we can stack their recent income against their pre-Prince death income then how can you assume that they aren't making more money now that he is dead?

W and L probably do make good money scoring tv...I will give you that. The rest of them I can't say. If someone can prove that W and L make less money now touring (and could possibly make through their album getting re-released recently) than they did as musicans for Tv, I would never question anything they ever did again where Prince was concerned.

The licensing, the relentless scraping of the barrel with his studio/live music, the neverending Experience Hendrix tours. All of it has kept him from fading from view.

Are people that run charities who (do make some money from it) are they exploiting the cause?
Some are. Is Sheila E expointing the charities she does performances for? It bring more notoriety to her name as a result ie more attention / money. Is she expoiting it?

So if keeping the music alive mean livingly performing. How do people continue to live? Do they rent outdoor spaces where they don't have to pay venues?

And they would not get away from being the Revolution. When Wendy & Lisa + Susannah was recording and performing in the late 80s early 90s they were still known as 'the Revolution' members.

FDeluxe will always been known as the Family. And there is no reason they should not. They are not 19 yrs old just starting out with the whole world ahead of them in this fickle society and industry.

NOt to say they aren't also honoring him or their past with him or their youth or any number of other things in these recent tours...... People do things for multiple motives. BUt it tips a bit more in the direction of self-aggrandisement/exploiting when the songs are limited to a certain era and the rhetoric isn't balanced. The scale tips back and forth...the point is (and should be) to try to keep that scale balanced. When they are doing that, good for them.
