Jack Nicholson did a great job as The Joker - but Prince would have been better!

Watching UTCM and the Partyman video, I'm convinced that Prince would have been perfectly suited as the man in the purple suit, white face and green hair - The Joker.

I used to love the Batman movie as a kid, not even realising that Prince did the music (maybe it's some subconsious thing and that's why I like him so much now?)

Anyway, what's your opinion, Prince as The Joker?

dude i just got done watching UTCM again 2night, and it reafirms to me that Prince CANNOT act LOL. As much as i love that movie its for every other reason but his acting.

Jack Nicholson is leagues above Prince in acting. P just looked prettier as the joker.

As far as I'm concerned Nicholson was the only reason to see that movie. Even after I saw it the second time it didn't seem to hold up well to me.

lol Cold but true smile I think he's capable of a decent performance (not up against Jack, but still decent) but he'd never turn himself over completely to the director, that's the problem w/ his acting. He thinks he knows best & he doesn't, not in that arena...
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

Don't get me wrong, I loved Jack's performance, but I was just thinking that Prince has that "psychopath/clown/good/evil" kind of personality as well

I remember my sister watching the "Partyman" video and she said the same thing...that Prince should have played The Joker in the film.Wasn't there a rumor that Prince would be playing Robin in the sequel?

That is so funny, coz the other day I saw "Partyman" and I thought "he's playing pretty well, and bet he could have been the joker".. I agree Nicholson did a great job, but I think it would have been great if Prince was the joker!! SO GREAT!! he was almost perfect for that role!!

Yeah he'd have been great. I mean just look at the awesome range he displays as an actor. Pr, UTCM, Gb, all wildly different and subtlely nuanced performances! Add to that his unforgettable role in Fargo (oh wait that wasn't him).
Yeah he could certainly carry a comedic/maniacal role like the Joker. He'll just be the Joker on 4 bottles of Nyquill.
I mean what has Nicholson ever done?
Honestly people, get real.
