song meanings????? ok i only just got the high album and i wanna know what the general opinion is as to the meanings of the song daisy chain and golden parachute???
i have my suspisions as to what daisy chain is about but i do need it spelled out to me. also what is a golden parachute??? i might be thick but thats just cuz i am scottish. help me out peeps | |

In the business world, a "golden parachute" is an agreement that has a certain trigger, upon which the executive is paid a bonus.
Some golden parachutes are tied to retirement - if an executive retires early, he/she gets extra compensation. Some are tied to hostile takeovers of the company - if control or ownership of the company changes, the executives receive bonuses. That contract is a golden parachute. In relation to Prince, The Record Label fronts money, the artist does all the work and hiring, but before the artist pays the help, the Label takes back everything they invested. Usually the label is involved in the help, so they get paid there too.
