lol you surely are the too thick one. . I simply post why WB completely screw up the promotion ; you are agressive and insulting, I don't know why. Even when you have the proof under your eyes, you still don't believe it. . That's your problem, not mine. . hey, Enjoy the new release and that's all, no need to be so agressive. Maybe Prince agreed with WB no promotion. Just like all recent album releases. Weird but maybe true. As equality grows, violence declines.

. Just looked through the whole issue (August 2017): not even a review. So Warners must have been seriously late in sending out review copies. . Latest issue of Entertainment Weekly also hasn't got a review, but chances are next week's issue will be a more likely candidate. . Really strange that with about a week to go there aren't yet any reviews. Except for that lame "preview" in variety. © Bart Van Hemelen

Exactly my whole point of the thread... Before the fams always take promotion out of context and start to go all insecure and bring up sales...
I was baffled how the biggest album of Prince's catalouge and the first major release since his passing hasn't got any legit attention...

The lack of WB commercial awareness beggars belief. Of all albums in his entire catalogue THIS is the one that resonates most with the masses.

His most iconic and most commercial album... One of greatest albums of all time... No promotion at all... Sad because Thriller and Purple Rain are hailed as the two best albums from the 80's... Yet when the Thriller deluxe edition came out there was tons of promotion... Same with BAD 25... Only one small article in Vanity magazine that's it...

No mention of Prince on the cover of the next issue of Classic Pop magazine. Detailed contents haven't been revealed yet, so perhaps they have a review? © Bart Van Hemelen

The awful quality of LIVE IN SYRACUSE is surely one of the reason why WB decided to make no promotion for the set. . To sum up WB's promotion : . - no tv ads, - no radio ads - No documentary to promote the project and why this is an event, - no tv specials, - no music video for Electric Intercourse (even on youtube), - no listening parties, - not one penny invested in the specialized press, - no copies sent to the medias - no update of the RIAA certifications (16*P instead of 13*P, that is not nothing...)... . All of this was only up to WB, not the estate, as we can sometimes read it here and there. . Amateurism is also a key word concerning this project : . - songs that are not from that era are on the set, - songs that are from that era are not on the set, - initial reports of 2 albums, 2 dvds, - some songs are not from the original masters - a release that happens way too late, only to compile and release what could have been made in a week or two, knowing the material is in WB's hand for a long time . It was the last chance for Prince to encounter a large audience, and to make people interested in his music. From now on, Prince's catalogue will remain a niche market. . Sad situation, Prince will remain an underground artist. [Edited 6/20/17 3:16am]
