q205

Who can we contact about reissuing his music?

Is there some way that we can suggest to the person(s) running his estate to start releasing his music thats been out of print? Like the black album, gold experience, rainbow children like someone mentioned earlier?

Yeah, talk to Tyka on her instagram, i did, and now they're gonna release a 5 disc resissue of SOTT next week.

Next best bet is a Ouija board and ask Prince directly.

Best thing to do is to go into your local wreckastow and ask the clerk to get someone from the estate to call you.

Search "Mad Men Laugh GIF" in google images. I had been using that for ages before I ever saw it in the show. I was a late comer to Mad Men, but did a marathon when the last season started (which seems to be the M.O. for me, as I did the same with Sex and the City, Oz, True Blood). When that scene came up, I laughed as much as she did, having had it on my social media off and on for quite a while before.

Awesome. Surreal when that happens as you know it from a different context. My example of that is a Cockney rhyming slang term for taking a dump which has been around for about 20 years. "I'm going for a Donald" as in Donald Trump (dump). I taught the term to my now 9 year old nephew when he was very little and so his only context for the name meant having a poo. He still can't get his head around how the parents of a future president would name their child after a poo.

--I belive the possibility of lawsuits by UMG and WB could prevent vault material from being releashed for a while. Let us hope for settlements and not long drawn out suits.

How do the lawsuits affect albums like Diamonds and Pearls and prince, which WB released?

It depends on what is in that WB deal. How long is the licensing deal? Do different albums have different end dates? We just do not know how long WB is going to be in the picture or if another company is going to come along. All we know now is that an admenment was made to the contract recently and that another entertainment deal was decided by the judge since the sibs could not make a decision.

Rhyming slang is great with kids. My 3 year old daughter tells us 'I need a Richard" when she needs a poo. (Richard the third = turd).

.

Bit tricky explaining it to nursery though, but was worth it to see the embarrasment on my wife's face

Prince albums were reissued on vinyl but only as far as Sign...WB said they would reissue all his albums on vinyl up to and including The Love Symbol. Initially, they said they would release The Black Album but then said they wouldnt. If there is $ in reissuing they would. WB are maggots and always were.

It is not owned by a private equity group so these are not the same people Prince was dealing with back in the day. They want to make money off of the deal and they are not doing so great financially so we may get to see something.

The albums mentioned above are selling at ludicrous amounts on the web in vinyl format. And mf are trying to sell bootleg black albums on vinyl,I hate seeing Prince fans getting ripped off.

I think promotion of remastered albums/cds would net an added 500,000-1,000,000 now.

There doesnt have to be and they will still sell. Not exactly IMMEDIATELY like some Katy Perry or Rihanna release.
