Is it not odd to you, that she didn't raise her first child, but then went on to have at least 3 more? It makes me wonder what kind of life Omarr had? His dad abused Prince, probably Tyka too, was Omarr abused, did he grow up at home? Because Prince sure didn't.

I guess it's a matter of interpretation because I did not view the OP comments/questions in the same light as implied by the negativity of "talking about a man's mother". I would also think that men would be more offended with having their sexuallity and their performance called into question then asking questions about one's relationship with their mother.

You would think wrong then. "Climb in my fur."

Just curious; you don't think it was a cesspool back around 2003 when posters where making snide comments about Prince being the Black Liberace; debating whether or not he was good in bed, discussing and theorizing if Prince got his religiosity and his sexual libido from his mother and theorizing that Prince was all talk on the stage, but a dud in bed? It wasn't a "cesspool" when folks were taking surveys of who was the baddest woman that Prince had reportedly bedded? I'm just trying to understand when and what constitutes a "cesspool".

Thanks for clearly pointing out what you would like for me to view; since I'm really not into graphic novels/but I'll pass and just keep it moving because it appears that you simply like to sow seeds of discontent and I'm not really feeling that vibe today. So just be advised that when you reply, I'm not being rude by not responding, I've just moved on.

OK, if you DONT respond to me that means you like to cut up canteloupes and place them in your bed and seelp with them all over yourself. "Climb in my fur."

. As strange as it sounds, it does happen more than you think. My Father in Law (who passed) was abandoned by both his parents when he was just a small child. He went to live with his Grandmother. Both his parents remarried and he had half-brothers and sisters.

I know that's true. My Grandfather was left on the steps of an orphanage, he had older and younger brother's and sisters, his mother would have children and after a couple of years just sit them on the orphanage steps. one by one. Luckily some of the older kids remembered the younger kids names and later in life they were able to reconnect.

. That is so sad. . I'm glad they were able to reconnect. . This was not uncommon back in those days. My Mother and her two brothers were both sent away to a home. My mother would never talk about it because it was too painful for her. She did reconnect with her two brothers though. I don't know how anyone could abandon their children, but it happens.

. I don't mean to upset you; I hope that is not the case? . I'm totally comfortable with talking about my childhood, and I feel like if I am able to help someone else, then it's all good. I'm not sharing personal stuff like my SS#. . What is wrong with saying you come from a single parent home or that you were abandoned or adopted or whatever? Prince had a troublesome childhood, and we all know this. I can understand how he felt because I have lived it, myself. . Again, no harm intended.

Its not like we are dissing his mother. The Reelz channel has her depicted as a thoughless, sex obsessed absentee mother. All I said was maybe she was a human being with struggles. To understand Prince and his artistry, isn't it important to understand where he came from, how parents influenced him, what he understood about his own parents etc. People are always trying to understand celebrities by understanding their parents. Unfortunately, Prince did one thing very selfish. He became famous..meaning that every person who helped make him who he was will be examined as well. But bear in mind if those people drove him into obsession over his work and created a whole in him that he was very much inclined to fill, they kind of reap what they sow.

People are entitled to their own interpretations. I don't see the OP comments as "talking about" his mother; they simply presented some hypotheticals for discussion. And I still contend that prior to their post, other topics raised to the level of "cesspool". To each his/her own. [Edited 6/11/17 18:20pm]
