Well.... here we go... probably heavy on "power ballad/power rock"
AND.... WELL... because it has to be mentioned:

My all time Fav and one I never hear mentioned - When I Lay My Hands On U - the phrasing and the way he uses his voice in that song are simply sublime

There r so many, so many... I will stay away from unrealeased stuff....the ones that come to mind that were officially released, t the moment r:
1) Dreamin' About U (this is in my top 5 Prince songs of all time...amazing, jazzy, sensual, honest) . 2) Extraordinary (probably in my top 15 of all-time Prince songs... such a beautiful display of his voice!) . 3) Tambourine (I have always loved this song...raw, funky, sexy...I don't understand the hate on this one!) . 4) Bob George (well, obviously!... funky, funny...so out there but it works!.. Who else could have done this? . 5) Loose! (Great energy, fun, I used to have this album on ALL the time when it came out) . 6) Tick, Tick, Bang (Ok, so I like this one... dripping with sex, raw, angry (I know the early unreleased one has more angst and urgency, but this is Funky!) . 7) Ur Gonna C Me/ Here On Earth (so these r 2 songs, obviously, but together with A Case of U and One Nite Alone...they make up such a beautiful, mellow, relaxing vibe... the 4 songs get me relaxed so quickly and put me to sleep --not in a bad way though--- but because they are so chill and melodic) . 8) I Wanna Melt With U (wow..this one is funky.... some of the words...like the river of blood stuff...r not words u want to sing, or have on, with the kids in the car...or, actually, with anyone else in the car, but this song is slammin') . 9) Revelation (newer, and I know appreciated...but this is a masterpiece to me... old-school vibe...what is better out there right now in r&b? are you kidding me... I know the Grammys are political, but come on (this, plus HitnRun Phase 2 got robbed!! I don't care about the awards...I just think even being nominated would have given it some of the respect it deserved! (and Groovy Potential too!!) . 10) Soft and Wet (very popular among Prince fans, but does this get enough credit? to be so young and to make something so amazing... even when I hear him sing it at later concerts (like the 1986 Birthday show)... OMG...so cool... I especially love the pause... "leave me without......breath"... so clever!!! just a small sign of things to come...thank u Prince...for everything that u gave to us...I am eternally grateful...

Uptown. The lyrics!!
Partyup - his lower register really takes center stage for the first time Something in the water- fell in love with this one since last year. I think this brings out his inner insecurity. Dovetails the "I was oh I was like my brother, handsome and tall..." line from LCdriver Computer Blue/I Would Die 4 U. (2) Both of these PR deep(er) cuts brought me back to the album many times. Condition of the Heart. Not well known outside of more die hard fan base. Should be. Anna Stesia. One of the best songs of all time for me. The Love we Make. An example of a fantastic song kind of lost on emanacipation. Shhh. Again, outside of fans like us here, most less hardcore fans are unaware of this song. Last December. Very Hit-worthy. Radio friendly. The best coda on any prince song other than PR, Anna Stesia, and Gold... also, it is Not weighed down by dogmatic TRC lyrics.. Honorable mentions: The Breakdown (would have thought this would get some love since last year) Morning Papers - Kevin Smith shows this song and the underrated symbol album a lot of love Electric Chair - highly listenable outside of batman context Love 2 the 9s. Symbol album is underrated. [Edited 6/12/17 7:58am]
