Dark Vs. Dark remix found on crystal ball

hi, everyone i was wondering what version of "dark" everyone likes better. for me i would have to say the version found of come. it just has a fuller sound if that makes sense. anyways give your opinions. peace all

I prefer the CB version and this is why: The song is meant to be somewhat "dark" and sad. By having the excess horn section, though it sounds beautiful, it takes from the feel of the song. It makes the song less sad. As an instrumental, however, i would have to go with the Come version.

Definitely Come.

But that might just be because I heard it first...dunno...the CB version doesn't sound right to me.

The 'Come' version without a doubt. I will always choose the version with real drums.

the 'come' version..i like the organic instrumentation...it's almost got a live feel...

very classic soul sounding...

Just an interesting note: Prince said that he didn't have final cut on the Come album and one of the tracks he re-constructed was Dark. The original version is actually the Crystal Ball version and the come version is the 2nd version. Personally I love the Come version, I think it has a really, playful-hurt interplay between the wounded lyrics and the bright horns and his coy vocals.
The C.B version is too flat in my opinion.

I've heard another version from someone in the music industry and it was very dark(no pun intended) but the Come version is probaby the best. Could someone tell me what version I heard???
