But they dig it when I'm bad! Part 1 1958-1985

I would like get together to learn a lot of Prince Roger Nelson from the org family and you thoughts and memories. Especially concerts and personal interactions with Prince. So I stayed up and read the rules and saw no bootlegs, links, or if I quote a source to basically do a footnote. But I didn't see it was against the rules to start a dialogue of our thoughts and opinions on the times we had living through the journey of Prince music. I ask that the wise help the learners and I myself hope I can learn new things as I am not a Prince fanatic as I didn't really get to live through his beginning stages of his career. I don't know if I'm wrong for thinking or feeling like that but that's how I feel. Okay lets get this party started.

I would like to do a 3 Part discussion with Part 1. But They Dig It When I'm Bad!; Part 2. When The Purple Rain has stop & The Parade Begins;(yrs 1986-2001) Part 3. Future Soul was it a Act of God.(yrs 2002-2017)

Part 1 I will like on this thread to discussed Prince beginnings. I would like to get to know him and why he choose to introduce himself as a bad MuthaFunKer? Please share photos, performances, interview stuff, and whatever great memories you have. Also all of you that feel I am being lazy and I need to search the org and look at past posts well.........................I'm just going to keep it 1000% with y'all, I am. lol lol lol lol I am, but please understand not all posts or information is available due to space needed for future posts and threads so lets make our own history here. So lets share our memories for the era 1958-1985 era and what you was feeling and doing around that time.

I wasn't thought of until August of 1984 and born April 8 1985. So unfortunately all I can do is read you all posts and learn from you all. I will post some pics from that era that I can find and hope they're photos that haven't been posted a lot.

Ok lets have fun!!!

My question I will like to know is how did Prince and Andre them know about record contracts because I'm curious to know how Prince got a contract with freedom to produce and manage his own records and get the Paisley Park record label?

Anyone grew up in Minn. around Prince them neighborhood and saw Morris and the gang talent shows? And what you all was doing when you heard first heard prince and thought when you first saw him vs when you got into him (music and all)?

Let me share a funny first time by my auntie lol! My granddaddy is a Pastor, so my auntie around 1982 heard controversy for the first time but not like you all probably think. This one night my auntie lied and told her dad that she was going to her friend house to study for exams but she was going with her boyfriend to some party for the Seniors. Well her boyfriend was about to score with my auntie nasty ass, so she listened for the song that was playing in the background so she can tell her girl friends what song she lost her virginity to and she said she heard "Our Father, who art in heaven.....(The Lord's Prayer) and freaked out. She told her boyfriend "We got to stop, I think my daddy here." 4 months later she hear the same song on 99Jamz radio station and realize that the song she heard was Controversy by Prince. So whenever she hear that song she screams "Prince cock-blockin' ass song".

Forgive my grammar and spelling mistakes****
