The Prince Bucket List

It seems the writing was on the wall for a long time. The long absense from releasing music. I got a feeling there was more to his statement on his music being released after he was dead. The cryogenic theme of AOA. It just feels like he knew well in advance.

.

So I think maybe prince had been checking things off his bucket list.

.

All girl rock band.

Montreaux with 13 horns.

Be in a sitcom.

Memoir.

Piano and Mic tour.

.

What else do you think he did in his later years that was bucket list related?

.

I think the planned revolution tour was bucket related as well ...

I would say planning for Paisley Park to be a museum would be bucket list-related. According to reports, he had it almost all planned out already with room designs, ideas, etc.

Making amends with old friends/bandmates could be considered part of a bucket list too.

The information that he wanted to reunite with The Revolution basically blew my mind. He had acted like he never wanted anything to do with them again, yet here he was - the circle of life? - going back to them. Remarkable.

I truly do not mean any offense...but not this again. It's all hindsight, woven together to fit whatever narrative you choose. None of us will ever know exactly what happened and what he was thinking. peace

There is an AOL CHat here from 1999

http://prince.org/msg/7/248584?pr

Prince says...

prince : all the songs that Wendy and Lisa sang on were left off...
prince : of the Crystal Ball package
prince : 2 save 4 a Revolution album

So....at that time at least...he was obviously open to the idea

It's not meant as a speculative thread, but rather a topic of discussion based upon accepting the premise that he knew his time was coming to an end, which I believe he did. He just clearly did some cool stuff he had not done before towards the end and I was curious if anyone else noticed any unusual events that could have been on the prince bucket list.

I also think LGC reloaded was a not so subtle easter egg wink to his current status, being a bit of a frankenstein with his hip replacement, and loaded up on pain pills. Much like Dylan's knocked out loaded. It struck me when I was listening to Hendrix belly button window, which has almost the exact phrasing of 'pills spills thrills".

I have no doubt prince was dabling with Dr. Feelgood at the time of LGC writing. As many musicians tend to have pills or illegal drugs to help them survive the physical demands of touring and promotion. Thus the Re in Re Loaded may have meant more than just revisiting the song due to his current status of using heavy meds to survive his life.

I wonder if prince popped up anywhere else, like they pryamids or easter island or took a ride into orbit. Stuff like that maybe some hardcore followers might remember, something odd that would fit the bucket list.

Was it Aomeba records that he visited? Is that in Mineapolis? If not it seems like maybe he wanted to visit a record store like a normal person again one more time, and buy some stuff.

I always thought that they wanted to reunite and were hoping if they did, prince would show up. Now it seems they had a plan all along.

.

Prince had a few more things to scratch off his bucket list first, but the way the Revolution describes it, prince had actually agreed but the timing was not right.

.

Perhaps the show around the Bobby Z heart attack was going to include prince but he likely was having a bad pain period and no showed. Lots of people with sever pain issues can't commit to much, and have days they just cannot function. They all seemed so hopeful as if it was more than a shot in the dark.

.

I don't care much for purple rain nostalgia show, but the notion that the revolution could have played together again, with all the music they were a part of, I would have loved to just hear them really explore all their amazing material much more than the hits or nostalgia.

yes it looks like he spent quite a lot of time preparing for the tranformation from home to museum ... the problem with being able to do it all is that a lot of time you end up doing it all .. just not enough time for him to organize so much ... i wish he had designated a specific person to work on the vault before he passed ...
