Prince was known to tailor history to suit his needs.
Nothing wrong with him hearing White Horse or genius and being inspired. He was a product of the times.
And he was human, after all.

I've always considered The Beatles and Wings as the same band. I guess - if you want to get technical - John, George and Ringo weren't in Wings (and some other people where) but that was accomplished by the cessation of The Beatles as a touring entity in 1966, and the death of their Brian Epstein in 1967, meaning the Beatles were personally involved in financial and legal conflicts, and conflicts arising from differences in artistic vision.
