PRINCE - or whatever he's called this week - is no longer king of Minneapolis, where he was born, grew up and maintains residence. The Purple House in the neighborhood of Chanhassen on the area of Lake Riley is where he once lived, where his pa John Nelson died two years ago August and spent his last years under nursing care. It's now history. Demolished, zapped, gone. Almost like this guy's career. For sure, like his last marriage to Mayte.

A demolition permit was issued 21/2 months ago. A bulldozer recently pulled in and, 24 hours later, the bulldozer and the Tudor stucco house, which was in this Princelet's signature color and which was in perfect condition and which was still owned by him, were gone. All that's left is a metal gate that bears symbols. One being a heart. Another being the three-spoke logo of the Mercedes.

OK?

Anyway, no clue why he did it. The place was inhabited as recently as last fall. The inter-family wrangle with a sister is over, because Mr. Nelson's estate has been settled. Neighbors theorize Prince maybe plans a bigger house. Or maybe lesser expenses since taxes shrink if the property is empty.

Star Tribune columnist C.J. has another theory. He's moving to Toronto where he already has an estate and which is the home of his "hard-to-visually inspect, rumored-to-be pregnant 'wife' Manuela Testolini."

Calls to Prince's lawfirm du jour Blackwell, Igbanugo got nowhere. Attorney Jerry Blackwell's burp was he doesn't talk "gossip." OK, how about truth?

Gossip columnists, as some argue, might just be 'doing their job' by reporting the goings on of celebrities, but Cindy seems to think she's owed personal information or something. Why should Prince, or Prince's lawyers, give you any "truth", Cindy?
