Prince has plenty of great songs, as we all know. There may be

a few songs in particular that touched your soul. These are the

songs that have impacted you personally and deeply in addition

to be a really good song. Which songs have done this for you?

For me, Condition of the Heart is one of these songs. One thing I

loved about when it first came out it was that it let me know what a

true artist Prince was. It demonstrated to me that he valued art over

commerce. Who would have expected this song with it's long piano

intro and it's exquisite poetry to be on the album after Purple Rain.

Not only did it deepen my respect for Prince, the unique beauty of

the music and words still resonates in my heart after all these years.

Another song that does this to me is Breakdown. His vulnerability

and rare introspection here really led me to empathize and feel

connected to him, perhaps more than any song he has ever done.

It took a lot of courage for him to share this song with us give how

closely he guards his privacy.

There are other songs too, but I am more curious about

"I Love U, But I don't Trust U Anymore" -- That song always gets me choked-up. When that song was released, I was going through a breakup with my Fiance at the time, and it was an especially painful time for me in my life. His voice is so pure and soulful in that song.

For me it's these:

1) Way Back Home - "power to the ones who could raise a child like me" - so mature, so ready to release this life and go home

2) The Question of U - I don't ice skate but I have created an entire choreographed dance to this. It always pings my heart.

3) Anna Stesia - on the Lovesexy tour, I could swear I felt the presence of the great Divine in that auditorium

4) Sometimes it snows in April - for obvious reasons

(Good question, by the way and apparently, I have comprehension issues because I went over the 3 limit.)

Some great songs by everyone. I almost put Revelation because

I thought it might be overlooked, so I was glad to see it here.

I remember when I first heard the album, knowing it was his

last one and not sure if any song on it would really move me.

Then I heard Revelation, which sounded so great and unique

while giving me that chill bump rush of hearing a great Prince

song for the first time. I was so glad he could still do this to the very end!!!

"Purple Rain" is still my favorite song by Prince.

I agree with you on Condition Of The Heart, it's the first song that came to mind when i read the titile of this thread

I realised just how achingly lonely he must have felt at times...

Longing for warmth and comfort...

1. Adore - the sincerity, the singing and the feel of this masterpiece send shivers up my spine. It is there and is all over me. The soul is so good it has its own soul, a living and beautiful thing. Prince's first encounter, whirlwind sex, undying devotion and then even hints of his domination make this song a powerful thing and those horns and vocals running through it. This is not a song, it is an experience.

2. Diamonds and Pearls - One of my lesser favourites but an uplifting song that fills my soul with light and makes me fly.

3. Cream - Sex, lust, music, partying, joy and a celebration of life. Happy and joyful emotions are released when I feel this song.
