Yes, I thought those two were great together.

And did he ever actually collaborate with Kate Bush?

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Not in the sense of the two of them being in a studio together. Their collaboration was just a case of them sending tapes back and forth.

They would be interesting, PJ could have taken him to Dorset smile

I'd also say Cocteau Twins would be an interesting mix with him.

Yep, there is an interesting interview with Princes sound engineer in the early 90's where he talks about them exchanging mixes of a song Kate was recording with Prince, the sound engineer was a huge Kate Bush fan and Prince teased him about working with her.

Perhaps you missed "So What The Fuss", from 2005 from A ⏰ 2 ❤️ (A Time 2 Love).

Prince played guitar (Stevie even names him in the song), and En Vogue sing backing vocals.

Former Prince engineer Femi Jiya worked on the record. Also on the album is Paul McCartney, India.Arie, Bonnie Raitt, Doug E. Fresh, Kirk Franklin, and bigoted heifer Kim Burrell.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

She sang on "My Computer", however that happened.

I could be wrong but I seem to recall an interview with Lenny where he said he was leaving PP when Prince gave him a tape of their studio sessions together. I think it was an interview after Prince had died.

mj if for nothing else, the drama and the humour that would ensue, same goes for rick james. terence trent d'arby would be a good one and would highlight just how great TTD is as a vocalist when he'd make Prince look normal. Little Richard would be a good one.

TTD was great until he changed his name and started producing a lot of junk. He is also insane. But his first 5 albums are fantastic. I wouldn't say he could out sing Prince though. He has a good voice but lacks the range that Prince had. Not enough deep tone going on. A collab between the two would have been interesting but I'm not sure there is a studio big enough to contain all that ego.

Sananda fka TTD has said that he did record with Prince at one point. Would love for that to see the light of day.

I would have loved to see Prince collaborate with

Chris Cornell
Jeff Buckley
TTD / Sananda Maitreya
Lenny Kravitz
David Bowie
Guns N Roses
Hope Sandoval (from Mazzy Star)

Yes I read that as well. Prince would apparently record everything so i imagine when he jammed with people like Lenny and TTD it was recorded so it is possible that some of these collaborations exist in the vault. The estate should release a collaborations album at some point (probably wishful thinking on my part).

TOMEEBOY

John Mellencamp

Both were very much alike:

Battle for artist rights.

Both had own recording studios in their hometown.

Both design art work for album covers.

Able to play different types of music (Rock/Blues/Pop)

Major hits during same time period.

Every song written by both has a hidden meaning.

Great suggestions. Especially Steve Vai (*long admirer of Prince) and Marcus Miller

...Album produced by the guys in SKINNY PUPPY
Steve Vai
TOTO/Steve Lukather
Natalie Merchant (*don't like her music it's boring but Prince could spiff it up)
Write an album for Smokey Robinson
Sam Moore (another album, maybe vault cuts)
Frank Zappa, Frank Sinatra, Frankie Valli, Frankie Beverly (*and album called FRANKLY PRINCE)
write a single for MEGADETH

I forgot Tori Amos. Those voices and way of singing and both playing the piano would have been a great combo.

I like a couple of her albums but the fact that she just cannot shut the f.. up makes it impossible for me to listen to her for long. Seriously, why does she feel she has to sing through every freakin second of her songs?.. biggrin That woman must be a nightmare to live with...
