I know its cool to hate on MT but I dont buy it. Her financial demands would have been much bigger than they were if she had his drug addiction to hang over his head. Did you read the divorce papers, he fought her on stuff. I think he was popping pills to deal with pain issues from his tour but he probably was functioning relatively well.. so it didn't appear to be out of hand but was still disconcerting. But I imagine he was keeping secrets from her and I imagine she was keeping secrets from him and I imagine he was working too hard (like usual) and there were suspicions on both sides of cheating. When he suspected she was cheating, he starting cutting her off financially and pushing her away (maybe testing her at that point. "Will she stick around even if I cut her off of the credit cards?" When she didn't and then she filed for divorce, he probably just felt it confirmed her greed. She might have thought he was just being mean with the money stuff so tried to stick to him a bit in the divorce. But even if her greed is somewhat apparent, its not exactly Paul McCarthney's ex-wife asking for nearly half his estate (a hidden out of hand percocet addiction would have been a lot leverage to get a lot more money than she got). Her divorce settlement was actually milder than many (not compared to Mayte's, but certainly compared to many celebrity divorces.)

Well I feel comfortable concluding that at least one person had the knowledge of his addiction and the leverage/credibility to go public and ensure that even though she was on to her next that he might have been saved. If she ever really loved him she would have. I think it went something like this: Mani: you're an addict and you need to get help or you'll die. Prince: how much do you want to just go away and keep quiet? Mani: $$$$$?!? See ya. Prince knew that everyone (in his circle) had their price so his much reported sadness at the demise of this marriage wasn't because it ended, IMO, but that she chose money over him. She didn't stick around to fight the lonely battle with him...she took his money to spend with EB. She didn't fight to save him. She sold him out.

Oh she knew, but like everyone else it wasn't about him. It was about them. He treated people poorly so that made people less sympathetic towards his pill use.

Really I have yet to hear anyone from the last 20 years say they were treated poorly. Not sure were you are getting this from.

I am not talking about this at all. After Prince died Kevin made some comments via his YouTube show. I am referencing what he said in that program. I will use the search key to see if I can find it.

said:

Kevin Smith didn't say Prince couldn't stand up. Kevin quoted Prince as telling him (Kevin) that knee pain would prevent him (Prince) from doing one Q&A for that Rainbow Children doc:

-

Here's the quote (you can read the whole thing here):

"So the next day, [Prince's] like, "I'm not gonna be able to do it.
-
I've got a show to do at the St. Paul Excel Arena. I'm gonna do a night show and my leg hurts, so I won't do the q and a."
-
I said, "Why does your leg hurt?"

-

He said, "Something with my knee."

-

And I was like, "Do you think it's because you always wear heels?"
-
He said , "What?"

-

I said , "Maybe your knee wouldn't hurt if you wore sneakers."
-
He goes, "It's not about sneakers.""

Been wondering about the right lower leg because Kevin Smith said he told him he could not stand up because of his knee when Kevin was working on the Rainbow Children doc. sad

I just think he was dealing with muliple issues.

The autopsy summary listed 2 scars: "scar, left hip; scar, right lower leg"

Actually, I believe the search warrant states Dr. S said he was treating P for hip pain and not withdrawal.

I believe it was Kirk and Meron who said P had recently been going through withdrawal.

So this withdrawal story came from Kirk and Meron. That is interesting.

Didn't Judith Hill say in The New York Times that she discussed Prince getting help for (fill in the blank) and he agreed to it?

But if had been seeing Dr.S at least since the 7th would have not been getting help. Not so sure Dr. S said anything since under HIPPA he is suppose to get his mouth closed.

Thank you I am glad someone else noticed that M2 could have used it as leverage to get money out of him if drugs were an issue yet the divorce file just has them bickering over money. I think your summary is a good reading concerning those two.
Kiran said on her social media that Judith should tell the whole story if she was going to tell anything. Once again done part if the story we do not know.

It sounds like his inner inner circle has got a lot of explaining to... Meron, Kirk Johnson, and Judith HIll. (and Dr. S as well). This is so sad. I want to believe that other musicians/casual friends he worked with weren't quite as clued into the problem. After all, Prince's "princeness" was probably often played off as eccentricity and deliberate distance.

Kiran Sharma, his old assistant (who I think was mostly working for him out of England and Turks and Caicos until 2014) was tweeting about Judith being full of shit and romanticizing what happened the night of the drug overdose on the plane. Judith probably wasn't giving him pills but I imagine she knew what was up and either turned a blind eye or was in some kind of personal denial. Kiran probably knew as well (which is probably why she wasn't working for him anymore.)

I wonder who finally stepped up to get a pain treatment doctor for Prince. Its like they realized that maybe their 'neglect' would actually kill him. I really hope no one deliberately poisoned Prince. I know he could a pain, but good grief, that's harsh..and kind of random in a way (after all those years.)

It was a criminal investigation so HIPPA doesnt apply.

The search warrants allowed for the Detectives to get P's files from Dr. S and the Medical Center he was taken to by Kirk prior to 2016.

The search warrants also allowed Dr. S to talk to the Detectives about P's medical condition.

How about fucking the help when your wife is on her knees mourning the death of the damaged child you gave her and doing it a publicly humiliating way calulated to strip her of her identity and dignity. That's 37 'bad' words. Want more?...or do you want to quibble about if it happened 20 years ago or 20 years and one month. you don't mourn him, you mourn what he represented to you or you mourn his music being a new prospect every year. You don't know him. You don;'t know what he felt about the death of his own child. YOu don't know him.

I don't mourn Prince (because I too don't know him) , but I do feel incredibly bad today because of this anonymous person (with credibility but no specifics about who he/she is) basically stating that everyone who has anything remotedly decent to say about this man is lying. I am basically today mourning the image I had in my head of a very flawed but still lovable man...I guess he didn't exist. No Prince was just a music making machine completely cut off from his humanity and the rest of humanity. And, Prince was able to hire really really talented people (Shelby and the rest) around him who also happened to be the weakest and most calculating people on the planet.

What's depressing to me right now is that I am having trouble even wanting to listen to his music (or any of his associates for that matter) because someone just made me feel completely gulliable and manipulated by them all. Its like the music has no roots in humanity, emotion, compassion or anything of that nature. Its like a calculating robot made the music. I realize that fame and adulation often taint relationships in Hollywood. I realize that synchophants exist. But I really would like to think that even users sometimes like the people they are using, and even manipulative messed up people like Prince have moments of fun and bonding with the people around them. People use each other all the time (and they may not really even realize it) but that doesn't mean we don't bond sometimes also. But these descriptions of Prince's later years are so overly cynical, it is truely depressing. His death is no longer just an accident resulting from Prince's own trust issues and obsession with privacy. NOw, people are implying that it is karma, revenge, intentional neglect and even murder. I pity this man being described here but there is nothing lovable about him or any of his associates right now.

I used to be a Frank Sinatra fan (massive one) and I made excuses for the dude for a long time. ANd then there was a time when FS's antics just couldn't be excused anymore..so I went through a time when I couldn't listen to his music anymore. (the reason being that i had to at least believe that those songs about Ava Gardner were rooted in real affection and longing so that I didn't feel like a schmuck when I was moved by the songs). Then one day, I read Sinatra describe himself as a manic depressive in some old interview and then everything was cool. I could account for the bad behavior and still believe in teh good behavior.

BUt this Prince stuff is fucking depressing. Its literally shaking my faith in humanity. Even Prince at his worst in interviews has some likable qualities. Now, he seems like Donald Trump with better looks and musical ability. (but at least Donald Trump has kids that love him)>

He wasn't as cocky or as mean as he used to be but he was. Drugs bring out the worst in you. Mt is not a nice person but he did some mean things to her as well

He may have been generous with charities but would still not pay people or would treat people in a less than kind be manner.

Just because cause it's not public doesn't mean it was t happening. But he did mellow out some.

Please allow me to clarify. He was a complicated man he wasn't a saint and he wasn't all Sinner. But he wasn't a person that should be placed on a pedestal as someone who didn't do wrong. He did plenty wrong. But he was also full of light and generosity. It was sometimes given to the wrong people. We are all nuanced individuals and he was great and terrible. Don't discount the good stuff but don't overlook what reality was. He was also an addict. Due to pain but still an addict.

I appreciate you trying to clarify but I am not sure you aren't just trying to make me feel better. YOu earlier stated that people may have tried to kill him and that anyone claiming he had friends is lying. Maybe we are defining friendship differently. Friends, to me, just are people that try to get along and enjoy a commonality or bond. A lot of frienships aren't perfect. But even an imperfect friendship wouldn't result in a death.

BUt this Prince stuff is fucking depressing. Its literally shaking my faith in humanity. Even Prince at his worst in interviews has some likable qualities. Now, he seems like Donald Trump with better looks and musical ability. (but at least Donald Trump has kids that love him)>

Keep in mind that this webpage has never been easy on Prince. I can't even read the older threads. All they did was drag him through the mud. He was not liked on here. His music, his earlier image--that they revered. He was not. Then he died and people seemed more compassionate and said some nice things about the man. But then some people discredit all the nice things stated about him by implying that no one in his later camp or in his life in his later years cared for him at all...so its throwing me for a curve.

you don't mourn him, you mourn what he represented to you or you mourn his music being a new prospect every year.

If you came to enlighten or to try to make anyone feel better, you have failed miserably as the post above makes crystal clear. What it does look like though is that you are here to push the addict line.

As purplerabbithole asked earlier: who are you?

Welcome to "the org", Mumio…they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end nod

Remember this though: this person who suddenly showed up out of nowhere and registered here on 6/17/17 has put a lot of info out there and NO ONE here has any clue who this poster is and there's no proof that anything being said is true. Seems like most here are ignoring and chalking it up to more trashtalk about Prince. Maybe you should too.

First off, dharma is retribution in this life, kharma is retribution in the next life...for past misdeeds...

Also, I'm sorry, but I'm not taking the word of someone new to the party and changing what or how I feel about P...I know his faults...I love him anyway...and I have already formed my own opinions about the circumstances and such that led up 4/21...

Early on I shared them so I won't belabour that topic here, but I decided, after I was satisfied with my logical conclusions based on the available evidence, I stopped reading these threads because lately there have been a few new folks who join and then make it their life's work to insinuate that they are somehow an insider and that they have tea that they're generous to spill...usually either half-truths or untruths...

No thanx...I'm good...

More to the point, I have come not to beleive much of what so-called insiders claim about celebs in general and P in particular...
