. I agree. I didn't like some of the things Prince was doing early on in his career. With that said, I think Prince had a lot of regrets and told people "Don't make the same mistakes I did." He said he would always try to push the envelope and do more and make his performances more sexually provacative, controversial and risque', a lot like Madonna was doing in the 80s & 90s. He came a long way and I think he made his peace with God. I sincerely believe that he became a better person after the age of 40.

PeteSilas said: Prince was a church boy and he was a gospel man, always was too. So I'm sure he had to feel as guilty as hell later on for using those gimmicks to get over. there were the nutty rumours that he made people call him messiah in the 80's. The idol worship people give these guys is a drug, it really is a drug and they end up feeling superhuman. I know, I've been gotten a few people screaming and cheering as a musician, it's a lot to take in and to do it on a consistent basis and keep it in perspective is difficult. That's where you get the insane quotes from a guy like Michael Jackson who thought he would live to 120 and Prince saying that age didn't exist for him, well, it causes major fucking problems when reality comes and taps them on their shoulders. Elvis thought he could heal people and control the weather. He still has some of his men convinced that he had magic powers. I do believe in magic but what I'm pointing out here is a clear delineation, these guys get warped by being worshipped, it would happen to you or me too in the situation. "power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely". Brilliant clarification of the situation.

The occult merely means 'unknown'. It is not necessarily indicative of Satanism and rarely is. As theist Satanism is merely a reversal of Christanity, very few occultists are interested in it. The Church of Satan is atheistic. It does not accept or believe in Satan as a theological entity. The devil is merely a symbol of rebellion. In my experience, it is primarily Christians who talk about and are preoccupied by the devil and spread ignorant hysteria about satanists who don't even exist.
