no matter what to say... you just can't deny:

"Deliverance".. glad it was released/ leaked.. because that's an amazing, brilliant song. heart

Reminds me a bit of the song "Wow" from Prince & 3rd Eye Girl,

The 1st track on the album... right, both are really great songs imho. music

Then let the estate have it and not these two asshats who are just looking to put money in their pockets. It is the worst of the old music industry tricks.

eek

Strangers who had nothing to do with the creation of the music get to reap the profits.

Well that is obvious. It is okay for these nobodies to steal as long as you get to hear it.

But George Ian Boxill did work on it. The people who would benefit if his estate was the one selling it certainly didn't contribute.

But legally the money should be going to his estate. If you created something would you be happy seeing the proceeds go to complete strangers rather than your family. People can think whatever they want to think about Prince's family he took care of them so he must have cared and he did not write a will that wrote them out therefore he knew they would inheirit. His own father did not have a will and he was the executor of his father's estate. He knew what was going to happen.

Ian is an engineer and admits to adding some chorus to the songs. Do you really think he actively worked with Prince to create this project? If he did why would Prince have him sign an agreement saying he would have no ownership of the material the same agreement he made all engineers sign.

The estate is saying the material is copyrighted do you think that Prince let this guy get any of the copyright on this material while it was being created?

Next you will be okay with the material being used in a butt creme commercial with all of the proceeds going to Boxhill and these two idiots who are running this bullshit record company.

Susan Rogers worked on Prince's music engineer I do not see her name on any songs as a writer and I am sure scores of other people worked with him over the years but turning knob does not make you a copyright holder or songwriter.

I believe the OP was wanting a discussion on the artwork for this collection, not whether or not any of us condone its release.

Personally, I think the cover art was just made to be purple and geometric with no real underlying meaning. It was also likely created without Prince's involvement or approval, so whatever it may represent (if anything) is someone else's statement about the songs on the EP, not Prince's.

That artwork/graphic is very bland and nondescript. I'm certain Prince had nothing to do with it.
The music on the other hand is extraordinary, imo.
A odd pairing, the music and that graphic.

It reminded me of church stained glass...Even if they did it meaning nothing, stars usually symbolizes perfection, rebirth, the divine, protection.

Eight point stars are associated with fullness and regeneration (I Ching Bagua has 8 sides), so I guess it was not bad at all.
