Yes or no question. For all his legendary cool was P actually a neurotic ? From a personal standpoint I go through different periods throughout the year where I'm a huge neurotic to other times where I'm so cool that nothing at all can get to me. It seems with all the reports of anxiety medication and the need to control every small detail in his world that Prince was more Woody Allen beneath the surface than Barry White. Or was he just a perfectionist that never let anything slide. It seems that this site is more interested in pics or rare video clips than a personality debate but for those that can relate I'm curious to know what fans that go back 35 years as I do think.

That's because there is no point in having a personality debate about a person we have never (or very shortly) met. We didn't know him as a person, so your question is impossible to answer. And even if there was a definite yes or no, what difference would it make?

Like many geniuses I think Prince was a bit of
a weirdo loner - no hating, just the truth. He might even have had a bit of social anxiety disorder. He definitely had trust issues, largely due to his childhood. Despite this, he grew up to be pretty remarkably well-adjusted - productive, law-abiding, etc. [Edited 5/21/17 8:33am]

And even if there was a definite yes or no, what difference would it make? I'll check myself on the Yes or no aspect. Too complicated to have such a simple response. But this site can be infuriating.Thats why I qualified the question with the fan of 35 years point. If you've been a fan for that period of time you certainly can get a sense of a person. Especially one that expressed every type of emotion as he did.

Yeah but so what? If you're not a bit neurotic you probably don't have all that creativity and spark.
