NPS is not his best album, but it´s also not his worst. There are a couple pretty good tracks on it..

No - its not as bad as most of his 90s output.

In fact, I think that the album is his best 90s output.

If this was a bootleg in the same way as the Black Album was, everybody would be raving over it.

Its definitely better than the Graffiti Bridge album because although the few good songs on G.B. are fantastic, the bad songs are real dogs and cancel out the good.

Diamonds & Pearls just sounded like a Prince Tribute Band getting it horribly wrong. I still can't listen to "Live 4 Love".

was very nearly there but there was a lot of filler and too many embarrassing segues. Some of the lyrics were plain stupid too.

Come just sounded cold to me. Even on the title track he sounded bored when he was moaning what he was going to do with his dick.

The Gold Experience was very nearly great too - but again, there were pointless annoying segues, that damn silly Dolphin song and an awful alternate version of The Most Beautiful Girl In The World when most people would buy the album for the version they heard on the radio.

Chaos And Disorder was forgettable and sounded amateurish.

If nothing else, Newpower Soul has the return of Camille on "Come On" - That makes it the best 90s album even if the other tracks were crap (which they aren't).

However, calling "Dolphin" 'damn silly' is inexcusable That song is one of his greatest!

Also saying NPS is a good album on the strength of "Come On" alone... A speeded-up voice does not a classic Camille track make...

I like it.. its NOT prince's best album, but I like it!!! I honestly dont think its that bad!! Not THAT bad!

I've always liked this album
When I just got it I thought it was really really funky (it's better than Rave). I had it in my cdplayer for almost a year!!

the otehr songs are cool, especially the title track!!

I see D&P is getting another slagging again. NPS is much worse than D&P, an album I think is one of princes stronger offerings. It just has hardly anything that truly shines on it. There are nice bits, but if im making compilations the only ones i think of are Come On (a brilliant song), The One, and Until U're in my arms.

Until youre in my arms... should have been the lead single off this album. Its the catchiest, even if it is a bit soppy. There are good songs on here, but when the Truth was being hidden away on Crystal Ball, and they were pushing this as Prince's return, it does somewhat boggle the mind.

I dont care if its meant to be an NPG album, in my eyes this is a 100% prince album, but it stinks as an album though.

Once again, people never agree which songs are the good ones and which ones are the bad. For example, I think "Freaks on this side" is a very important and special song.

But as an album, NPS is the most relaxed and playful of the 90's--and when Prince doesn't try so hard to get a hit, he does his best work. I have yet to hear a coherent criticism.

Also, Wasted Kisses is a really fucking cool song.

"Strollin"---irresistible little number
"Gett Off"---this funk track alone KILLS anything on NPS!

Gett Off is a legendary funk song, I'll give you that. But nothing on D&P is as interesting as "Come On" or "Wasted Kisses."

4 me,its like Xpectation in that it is a 'chill' disc.
sumthin 2 put on & mellow out 2 on a summer's day,relaxin with a cool drink.

however,Come On,TheOne,Push It Up,Wasted Kisses,MadSex,ShooBedOoh...these ones i like.
the 1st 2 there,i LOVE!
