I very much doubt they'd accept international applications. I'm fairly certain US work visas are limited to people whose skills can't be found within the US, unless you're a huge corporation like Google or Apple who hire a lot of computer scientists from places like India or Russia.

Even as a professional musician that's toured worldwide, it's a pain in the ass to get performance visas for the US, and costs a lot of money.

Yeah. Its a shame, if they asked for extensive knowledge of the 'service', then an HB-1 arts and culture visa could probably be had to work there. But Donald is even stalling those.

This is a non-statement. Pick any job in any part of the world, and I'm sure there are people more equipped to do it than the locals. But who knows, maybe they aren't?

It's actually called "H1-B"; and there's no such thing as an "arts and culture visa". So you're off to a rollicking start.

You would need expeience running something like a museum, school, even a restaurant... or else it would be a disaster. It's not about knowing Prince lore. I hope they hire well!

Too bad. There are a lot of non-US fam who would be great at that job. BTW Militant, I love your show. Your female counterpart is a doll and you compliment each other well. I wonder when I watch if you both just effortlessly fell into the naturalky volley of conversation you have.

Awww, thank you so much! And yeah, we pretty much do. I would say more so now than we started, since we're 31 episodes in at this point. You kind of naturally pick up what works well in a broadcast.

Sorry, was doing it from memory and got the letter the wrong way round. If its not the H1-B with the Arts specialism its one of the others ('o'?). Can be used by museum specialists, or at least, has in the past.

Either way, the result is the same in regards to this job. It's missing a trick not asking for a unique specialism, would have had some interesting applicants.

I hope you provided them good feedback on the celebration event.

I gave them a bit, but it can sound a bit condesending when they don't know a guests background and they try to give advice, especially mid event.

They tried very hard, but make rookie errors, which suprised me a little considering the Graceland experience fall back (although Graceland isn't the best planned event either).

Most of the problems seem to stem from lack of experience in doing what they are doing. The staff were great, but not informed, and given a poor system to work under. Its a management fault, not the troops on the ground.

There were hundred of issues (most notably they didn't understand how to handle foot fall ratios), but one simple example:

There was a real problem with VIP seats being taken by non VIP guests. It happened because you could only tell the difference but asking for the identity card to be facing one way, and being close enough to read. Anyone in serious security and event management should know that segregation needs to be highly visable and is most commonly done by by coloured lanyards.
