Has Moonbeam Levels symbolism been talked about?

Just the simple fact that Moonbeam Levels is track 33 on the 4ever album.

Jesus Christ supposedly died when he was 33.

Just something I picked up, wondering, if anyone else thought about it?

That's not symbolism. That's a f-a-r reach.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

-The line I do not want to die is symbolic. He picked this song for a reason.

He wrote that line a long, long time ago.

Yes, and he picked that song for inclusion on the Prince4ever.

Did he? If so, why is it the same as the bootleg version we haf before? I'd have thought if Prince put that one for inclusion we'd have a better version of it on that disc.

He signed this deal with WB and the Prince Forever project was already in the works before he died as it was a part of the agreement. As far as the sound maybe that was the best quality that could be had. I think audiophiles on this board do not understand the average person could care less about this sound stuff and in the end the idea is too make money off of these projects. No company is going to spend loads of money worrying about the sound when music sales are not anywhere near what they were decades ago.

It is not even relevant as far as the sybolism of the lyrics.

I realise the deal was in place before he died, but there's no way he approved the explicit Sexy MF, so I don't think it's unreasonable to doubt that he would have included Moonbeam Levels. From WB perspective, this is one of, if not the most, reverred of the Prince outtakes, so for them to include it seems obvious but I don't think Prince would have approved it.

We don't know the exact years in which Jesus was born and died, but we do know that John Belushi was 33 when he overdosed in the same year as Moonbeam Levels was recorded. Perhaps that means something. Or not. I'm going with the latter.

Well Jesus couldn't have been born in the BC era, so that narrows it down.

We have no way of knowing that he did not approve of Sexy MF. This guy probably felt that was the old him cursing not the new him so no worries. He had songs in his shows in his later years that to me were questionable for any Christian person to be performing.

Also, there would be no way for him to do this deal with WB and exclude songs with profanity.

If they do a 1999 remaster are they going to leave w hole songs off the album.

I think they're on to something RD. It's obvious now, Prince didn't mean to die in the elevator, he was actually looking for 'a bettter place to die', but just went a little too soon.
