Prince & Stevie Nicks callaboration: All Over You Anyone have any more info on this callaboration? From the diffuser article above: There was also a demo, posted to Fleetwood Mac’s YouTube channel on the day of Prince’s death, that was recorded by the pair but never released. It’s called “All Over You.” [Edited 5/16/17 18:22pm] "You always get the dream that you deserve, from what you value the most" -Prince 2013

I think we can assume it was made sometime during the mid-80's. And you can definitely hear Prince's backing vocals and the guitar sounds like him. The rest sounds like Stevie. This is all conjecture though. U fall in love 2 fast and hate 2 soon
And take 4 granted the feeling’s mutual

I listened again this time around--it still doesn't sound like either one of them to me. I mean, there have been some things that I thought were fake that turned out weren't, but this one... I'm not hearing it.

This is puzzling. For one thing, the sound palette and arrangements have "mid-to-late-90's" written all over them, so this can't possibly be from 1984 as claimed by the poster, or that would make Prince and Stevie the most visionary artists of all time. And I can't hear Prince's voice anywhere on it. Not sure about Stevie because I'm not too familiar with her work, but Prince? Nope. Are we certain this YT channel is the genuine, official Fleetwood Mac channel? There are loads of fake official artists channels on YT and I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case here, in which case the song is likely to be a fake. I hope someone can shed some light on this. [Edited 5/17/17 0:03am] A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

. . . I don't hear Prince at all on this. Like databank says, is this YT channel official? Colour me sceptical. Also the song is garbage.. . . Just looking around briefly, it seems it's been floating around for years and years and from what I can see even Stevie Nicks fans don't regard it as real. [Edited 5/17/17 2:59am]

Just because we cannot hear his voice doesn't mean he wasnt playing guitar, or another instrument, or patcipated in writing, we have no idea who else was there at the time playing with them. Regardless of how the song itself sounds, I am going to go with it being true unless some evidence comes out saying ohterwise. . Hilarious. How the fuck can we prove this isn't them? Dude, this whole thread is people pointing out that the "story" WRT this track is utter BS, that it doesn't sound like Stevie, nor does it sound like Prince, and yet you still remain convinced it is them. . Hell, Stevie has talked over and over about their one and only collaboration and never mentioned this. There is ZERO evidence this involves Prince or Stevie. It is patently obvious the work of a bunch of amateurs. © Bart Van Hemelen

I don't want to get into a debate because I'm done debating with people on this website, so I will not discuss it any further, but I just feel it necessary to point out that your reasoning is: - the exact opposite of the scientific method, which consists in considering something as being true only once each and every conflicting theory has been proven false. - the exact opposite of the journalistic method, which consists in considering something as being true only once it's been confirmed by undeniable factual evidence or a sufficient amount of believeable and concurring witness statements. - the exact opposite of the adversarial justice system, which consists in considering an accusation false until proven true by undeniable factual evidence or a sufficient amount of believeable and concurring witness statements. . Besides maybe religious/spiritual beliefs, which by essence involve a true leap of faith, it's very dangerous to base one's beliefs on an intellectual system that conflicts with all of the above. If this song really exists and if it's really from 1984, it will inevitably be reported by Madhouseman in his upcoming book given that its existence seems to be a well known rumor in the Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac community (so it's not like it's something that just popped-up out of nowhere). However, a confirmation of its existence would not mean a confirmation of the fact that it's the specific recording we are presently discussing. On Wiki, it was quoted as being real and from an unreleased Stevie album

The sampled electric guitar would place the recording date of this >= 1988. A Roland strings patch rears its head a few times in it as well, which equipment wasn't even available until mid-1987. The song also appears to be heavily influenced by his persona on the Camille tracks and Lovesexy-era idiosyncracies, with some G. Clintonesque impersonations as well. I believe you can hear the muffled console chatter of the two main vocalists at the beginning in their natural voices, which would certainly eliminate vocal participation by either Prince or Stevie. This sounds to have been recorded circa 1990/1991 (or perhaps just a little earlier). It's almost like a very rough Natural Selection-type demo. The nuances of lyrics are the most faithfully Princely part of it, but as a whole it is an amateurish cacophony that tries unconvincingly to imitate a patchwork of different eras of his 1980s sound. 1979-1982-ish somewhat generic funk rhythm guitar, with some coy 1986-1988 extraterrestrially delivered suggestive lyrics, over a late 80s digital and sampled backbone, and some un-Princely very early 1990s style drums and drum programming. It's so bad that it's good, actually. . At a bare minimum, by the use of certain technology alone, it cannot have been recorded in 1984, to say nothing explicitly as to the involvement of either P or Stevie (an almost axiomatic negative). . It also sounds nothing production-wise like the known 'Mirror, Mirror'/'Rock a Little' alternate or demo material. . Official Channel with less than 6,000 subscribers in four and a half years of existence? 'Uploaded in HD with TunesToTube.com' watermarks on certain videos? Official audio? Vinyl rip-sourced uploads? Focus on B-side, maxi, 12", associated artist, and outtake material? . Seems like a dedicated fan. . 'Warner Bros. Records' seems to be the primary or sole legitimate account for their material. .

Stand Back doesn't really sound like Prince either. Having said that, I don't think this song is has anything to do with him. The wooh is on the one!

. Well, his contributions to the actual recording itself are somewhat modest and anecdotally overstated. Most of the track had already been recorded. The partially regurgitated LRC arrangement (and the resulting publishing royalty split) is a more significant feather in his cap than the courtesy session playing he did. . To me, his work there sounds quite a lot like what he did later in 1983 when he overdubbed 'I Would Die 4 U'. . [Edited 5/17/17 10:19am]

Willing to believe that this is Stevie Nix. Not Prince, though. Considering how enamored she was with his sound, it's likely she got somone in to ape his guitar. You can't copy his voice, though, which is why they don't even try.
