There was a similar analysis of the edits on Miles Davis's "Bitches Brew" album in the booklet of the Complete B.B. Sessions box set that was also very interesting to see. There are so many edits on that stuff that Teo Macero would deserve a co-composer credit

You beat me to it! I was thinking of using the full version of Junk Music and on my long flight next week spending some time using the better source to make the edit that would have been on The Flesh

I'm confused. In order to deconstruct something, it has to have been contructed - which means it isn't unedited.

I promise I'm not trying to be snarky - just trying to understand why this is important...?

The mixes are different, so it's not possible. Also, Eric was editing from the multitrack, so there are some spots (mostly after drum fills or cymbal clashes) where another instrument gets cut early.

I took the edited version of Junk music (and the other tracks) and lined it up against the unedited version. It was pretty tedious, because they had to be moved every 4 seconds due to tape warps.

The edited version of Junk Music was constructed from the unedited version.

It's probably not important.
